Hey, i really wanna upgrade without flashing. However my CDA number prevents this, I was wondering if you can prodict when the EA031 firmware will be released with CDA numbers, thanks, harry

If your phone is branded, it will be really unpredictable when the new f/w will be available... generally speaking, F/W is updated every two months

I used DaVinci to get rid of the blue ring of death. Then I also updated via SEUS to the last firmware. Hope this time I got rid of the restrarts.

I lost 10 euro and all the data in the phone, but at least it's working again. I have a backup of the contacts anyway.

I can't believe that SE can be so stupid. They probably know about this BROD problem and they are not offering a recovery function in SEUS. We have to go to third parties to get our phones fixed, or to send our phones into services, when everything can be easily done online.

Thanks for tips! Much appreciated!
I just tried your first tip (Opanda), and it worked well on the pics with no EXIF data in them, I just added Image EXIFs, and then I could tag the files. But some files had already some EXIF inf., and since this program is a trial, I couldn't edit all of the data, which in turn made the pic... un-tagable.
I googled SIC, and if I'm not wrong, that's a program you have to buy, right? I couldn't find a trial of it neither. Not really wanting to pirate it.
Then I tried the Media Manager program, but the program doesn't seem to find my phone, so don't know how it would work...

Will continue trying and see if I can make all my pics tagable.

hi, Ive had my k850 for 2 days. I have updated the firmware to R1DA038 and am on Orange UK, but I am experiencing a number of problems/ issues which I've outlined below:

1/ Red tinted photos when taking photos in Twighlight landscape mode.

2/ No option for clock size in display settings menu. This was available before I updated it but has now disappeared?

3/ I tried texting someone yesterday, the text sent, but said I had texted someone totally different in my phone book and the reply I got was from the right person but with wrong name again!? Example: I text Ludo, and it says I have texted Remy, and I get a reply saying from Remy, even though the reply is from Ludo? WTF?

4/ Also I want the clock as my screensaver, like I had on my W850 (where you can see if you have had missed calls and new texts and the clock moved location on the screen every minute. It is possible to see this if you press one of the volume keys on the side, but is there a way to make it permanently appear? Are all new A200 phones like this? Why would SE take this function out?

5/ Whole phone is really really slow and laggy, specially media centre...and writing texts...is this normal or is it cos of the crappy branding?

6/ When i pause/stop a track in media centre, (where it fades quickly) i get a nasty crackling sound (and also when i change volume

7/ Also on eqs- i swear some eqs do not take effect on the 2 loudest volume settings (last green dot)- this might jus be my ears deceiving me- but listening through sennheiser hd-25s the sound just became distorted on the lower bass frequencies- sound quality doesn't seem quite on par with my old w850 either but again, might just be getting fussy...I bought this phone as an upgrade to w850 (and will be using it heavily as MP3) so audio quality is important to me.

8/ TrackID stops the sound (radio or MP3) when it records- which defeats the whole purpose and means that it always says you have recorded no sound...

Can anyone suggest any advice on how to relieve these problems. I am gonna play around with the phone for a couple more days, but if these problems persist, its getting sent back. If I can sort them out, I'm gpnna unlock the handset to unlock its true potential

any suggestions appreciated

I am able to reproduce the wma all the time now.
Mrwarner: could you add it to the 1st post?

When i take a pic during wma playback the phone reboots 1/4 time
r031

edit: tho maybe you should add it to 037, as it hasn't been fixed in 031

@ashby wow, sounds like you have a lot of problems. Most of them are not very common to the fw you have so I would try to exchange that phone since you just got it 2 days ago

@harry are you seriously asking for someone to "predict" when a fw will be out? This thread would probably be 75 pages if we could have done that. Either pay to flash or wait.

SIC 1.1 is/was free (just outdated and removed from support site
http://www.clie-link.com/UK/e[....]dir=idx&sw=1024&sh=768&lng=en)
Still available here though: http://www.sonyclie.org/drivers.html

I believe it will replace your original EXIF on output image with SIC's tags and marks and also renames files with sony's "DSC000x.jpg".
The unconverted files keep the original data in EXIF anyway.
The goal is to make tags compatible with phone Media.Am I right?
I couldnt find any good freeware for batch exif editing w/o image processing.ExifTools and ShowExif software no good for me:(

Just got another restart, becoming more and more prevalent. Haven't had any restarts for the first 2-3 weeks but have been getting 1-2 a day the last 4-5 days. I hope the blue ring of death is not coming soon.

Too many ppl are getting restarts & its not limited to the latest non-branded firmware but only to the non-branded firmware. Is there some other data in the phone memory or on the M2 or MicroSD card that could be the source of this all?
