I've just tried SEUS and updated to latest K850i firmware with my CDA being 1202-5694.
Now when I check Software info it says following under Customization:
1202-5694 R11A
1200-5441 R1EA031
1E0W
T-MOB-INT
Is this correct? What does the T-MOB-INT represent? SIM lock?
It means your phone is branded to T-Mobile-International... |

What firmware branded or physical branding? I have generic firmware and there is no T-Mobile branding on the phone at all.

i tried taking out the battery n try again but still doesnt work, everytime i plug the charger in i get this red LED on on the power button, when i press it the red LED is gone but my fone still cant b turn on!!
current fw is 031 china
This isnt a firmware problem, yet this is a firmware thread. I would return the phone or try posting in a hardware thread.
my phone is a 07W42 build, and damnit but i've never seen the low batt red light on my ON switch, it's like SE randomly puts in these things!!

Hi. Just stumbled on a little feature which I haven't seen mentioned anywhere else.
Switch your K850i off. Wait a few seconds then switch in on again. Wait for the SE logo and start-up sound. As soon as you hear the sound press the volume keys and hey presto you can set the volume of the start-up sound.
Not sure if this is of any use at all. Have fun.
i'm on 'old' 037 fw and i noticed that in the Menu screen, when you exit the sub menus (let's say go into Settings and come back out again) the icons emerge/spread out from the Settings icon, a cool animation indeed. This however does not work for the Alarm, Cybershot, Contacts, Media, and Calls sub menus... damn this buggy fw!
i'm still having trouble updating to 031- ERROR! messages always when the PC tries to load phone, but with the numerous random restarts reported, i'm kinda glad i'm still on 037

I seem to be having an error with Megabass on Generic 031.
If I set the volume to a good level, all is fine until the next song is played, then the volume is insanely high and the audio is overly bassy. If I press a volume button once, it goes back to the level I set. This trend continues for every song.
Anyone else get that?

Hi, i'm trying to update my phone to the latest firmware, but everytime i try (both on comp and on phone) it says that I have the latest firmware.
The phone is from the UK but is on O2 with a t-mobile sim inside, can anyone think why?
I am using R1CA037 and i know there are numerous firmwares above this, why?
thanks

For those that can not upgrade need to read the thread and research. It means you have a CDA # that currently doesn't have an upgrade for whatever reason. You can reflash with 3rd party software such as Davinci.
I just experienced my first reboot and have not had any issues for two weeks. So know one is impervious. If this happens again I will definitely revert back to 038, which gave me no problems at all. |

My phone crashed again last night. Now it won't boot up. When I plug in the power cable keyboard lights up as well as the "blue ring of death" and the red battery indicator light on the power button. I'm attempting to charge it now so that I can reflash the firmware.
Anyway before this I was having a fair number of random reboots with R1EA031 firmware, so if you are experiencing this, you might consider doing a Master Reset and reflash before you end up in my boat.
I'm back up and running! I was never able to reflash the firmware through SEUS, so I went for Da Vinci Team, which succeeed after a couple of tense mid-flash failures. Just make sure that if you're in my situation you plug the phone in for at least an hour to try to get enough of a charge on it to make it through the flashing process. The only firmware available that matched mine (CDA or whatever) was 037 so I did that, then a full master reset, then an upgrade through SEUS to R1EA031. Incidentally, when I used SEUS it said that my phone already had the most recent firmware even though I was on 037. I went ahead and did "Continue Anyway" and it flashed it to 031. I haven't had a crash since I upgraded yesterday afternoon!
One thing that I wonder about ... I'm not positive, but I think my phone originally started crashing a lot more frequently after I switched the phone to push e-mail then back to check every 30 minutes. I wonder if some of my crashes were related to checking for e-mail ... It certainly felt like it was crashing every 30 minutes. Anyway My fingers are crossed that I'll enjoy some crash free time for a while.
I've been up and running for 6 days now! Just one crash/random reboot since then, and I've been using the phone heavily e.g google maps and media player on constantly on for two 6 hour drives. I hope this continues. |

Vlad83, please may you explain more. I am very new to this scene and it would be helpful if you could explain in more depth what you mean.
I know my firmware is the 037, however, it is pretty buggy and want to upgrade it. I went to the davinci site, but if I want to access any of their services they ask me to pay 10 euro, and when I went into greater research, i found that the catergory with k850 in it was 50 euro, not being tight, but this is pretty pricy.
The CA number you mentioned, is there any way of changing this so i can upgrade, or is there a way I can force upgrade my k850, by passing the note saying it is on the latest firmware.
Thank you in advance,

Hi Harry
It's 10 Euros to flash the K850i on Davinci. You need to use the Customized UK/BLUE firmware if you do decide to flash. I had a T-Mobile branded K850i and now it's got the latest generic firmware 031. I used Kulankendi but the principle is the same |

@Harry Like Eternal said, its 10 Euro to flash. You need to get 10 credits, download their client and follow the instructions of the client. I have not determined the difference between different locations or even phone colors. The only difference is language packs that come with the FW and the color is for accounting reasons as far as I can tell. Just choose the unbranded FW closest to your region and voila. I am currently on Indonesian or Singaporean and located in the States. |

To get a cheaper debranding, just buy a credit from www.kulankendi.com . It is €8 per flash. And the best thing, within 24 hours, you can reflash your very same phone the other 2 times for free in case something wrong happens. |

@ Iwantin
like you're saying you are glad you are still using this 037.
I'm really glad too I'm still on 037. when this 031 fw just came out I thought about updating it. then I decided to do it after the weekend because I had some big party comming up for the weekend and I didn't know wether the new fw would cause problems (because it was new and not many of you guys had experience with it). then after a few days the real problems were comming and people started complaing more about this fw.
after reading all these negative and positive comments I decided to stick with 037 until they release a firmware with minor bugs and a good battery life (like I have right now). Until then I'll just read this thread to stay up-to-date of the latest changes. just my 2 cents |

Hi,
I've had my K850 for a few months now and have never been able to update it via SEUS or the phone's built in updater, both always tell me my software is up to date. I am on 3 UK and still using R1CA029, but it says at the start of this topic I should be able to get R1DA039. Is this a common problem? I can't understand why I'm not able to update it...
I too am on 3 UK and I have been unable to update from R1CA029. I have not heard of anyone using a K850 on 3 UK who has been able to update their FW using SEUS or FOTA. I also believe that 3 UK are still selling their K850's with R1CA029 installed, which isn't good news. It seems like us 3 UK users are going to have to be more patient and hopefully we will eventually get the update we've been waiting for. Either that or we're going to have to use Davinci and debrand! |
