in fact i find the JogDial on my P800 more reliable than Joystick and Jogdial bears alot of similarities with the clie/Nokia 7110 like scroll wheel. for sure bav this would be more reliable than joystick

the combination of a d-pad and a jog in the middle is the best of both worlds

Just hope the similarities with the so905ics don't have anything to do with that particular device's thickness!...just tooooooooo fat.

SO905iCS became too fat mainly due to the enormously large LCD display bundled with the very large cam module. but i suspect it's the LCD that takes much space on the phone because Samsung is has been able to fit the similarly designed large camera module into 17mm thin G800/G810

Are you implying that the next C series phone will have a better sensor and optical zoom?

Honestly, if they do an SO905iCS remake for international markets, I hope they don't make the button system quite so complicated looking. Sure, have the scroll wheel, but not so many shortcut buttons, etc. Just make everything else normal. I love the SO905iCS, but the buttons are too cluttered and too complicated looking.

The Wheel in SO905iCS is designed to prevent dust...

the wheel design is seperated to two sections, outer and inner
and both are isolated from each other

the outer contain the mechanical mechanism for the wheel.
the inner contains the sensors needed for sensing the motion

but how the inner section sense the motion of the outer while they are isolated ?

magnets !! the wheel do have small magnets, and the sensors in the inner section are actually just magnatic sensors !!

the dust will only go for the wheel, no deep, the sensors will be clean and safe, and the main problem of K750i, W800i is vanished now

ofcourse some will say that the wheel may have dust too, true but it will only rotate nothing more, and dust wont prevent magnatic field from finding its way to the sensors, so after long time of usage and after the phone get really outdated the wheel will still function, well not that sleek rotations, but it will work

Sounds very interesting and Shiho won't be using MOAP like the 905iCS. I'm hoping it is a lot slimmer although if it features a Xenon flash then you can count this out.

So the next announcement date is?

So basically the new info is that a new phone coming soon to us (possibly Shiho) will bear a striking resemblence to the SO905iCS? As long as the scroll wheel isnt the only thing being used then it should be a cracking phone.

Well thats good enough for me to put me on hold for buying anything else.

I was this close to going out to buy a G810/Z10 as soon as was released in a few weesk.

Cheers PK/xumendo.

Guys!

Everyone just chill out, the scroll wheel works wonderfully, definately not as weak as the Joysticks of years gone by!

So Paris should have the stylus, D-pad, front scroll wheel, and touchscreen. 4 way input. Hmmmn. Sounds not unlike a UIQ X1 to me.
