I think that means T Mobile haven't approved the new fimware as of yet.

I have no branding and I can't update my phone. Maybe it is only for some regions.
I'm from germany.
FOTA says that my phone is up to date and SEUS, too. |

FOTA said I had the lastest firmware but SEUS updated my firmware. I'm in the United Kingdom, I think it's just because the new firmware has just been released to the public so give it sometime and it should let you update. Although I have to add it's not exactly an amazing update... |

It seems that the firmware isn't available yet for branded phones. My friend tried on his Orange-branded K850 and it said there was no update available. Hang in there a bit longer.

I updated my O2 branded phone today, thanks for the heads up, this is such a great site, cant say my phone feels any different other than a little faster when deleting pics, ah well. |

Please help, I have tried this on two different PC's. I launch SEUS, it detects the phone, then says Indentification Failed! start over. I have done this numerous times.

Remember that this firmware only contains fixes for the important things that really can't (i.e. the camera flash issue); it's by no means a major update. There's rumours of that coming in December or maybe January.

Have you messed around with anything with one of the unlocking/unbranding applications?

NO, I bought it unlocked from PhoneSource USA. Haven't done anything to it... I called SE support, they said its possible that their servers are acting up... not much of an answer... Going to keep trying. They also had me check to make sure it wasn't a prototype, it is not. |

A bug on my phone is that the update service on the phone does not work it starts searching for updates, the couloured dots go side to side for 5 seconds then they disappear and the phone locks up requiring the battery to be removed to reboot. Can the update be done any other way, this is the most bug ridden phone i have ever had, makes my N95 look good! |

I've just (after 3 replacements) found a possible cause of the reboots ....
If I have just the providers' e-mail set up in the on board client the phone
behaves, if I then add other e-mail accounts it starts to reboot.
I haven't found out if it's the imap4 account or one of the other pop3 ones
yet but I'll let you know when I do.
BTW - Mine's Orange UK branded.

Ive had K850i on Orange for abount 3 weeks now and have 2 main problems.
The 'Activity Menu' Key will bring up only a 'Main Menu' option and there is no way of adding shortcuts. This is down to the Orange software apparently, but makes the button useless. I used to like this button on my K750i and K800i for quick links to favourite apps, etc.
Also when I have phone docked in the Sony Ericsson MSC-60, the sound plays from the phone rather than the heaphone port on the docking station. This again makes the docking station useless. Still waiting for a reply from SE.
I have also noticed there is no link to open the media player like I had on K800i. Instead you have to select something to play to open it.
Anyone else have these problems and any solutions?
Was considering de-branding the phone but am a bit wary of doing that. Never done it before. |

hi im new here so please be patient with me as im not very tech.
i bought the k850i branded to orange a couple of months ago and am also having the problem with the delayed flash, if i take a picture in a dark room the quality is rubish. ive been looking through this thread but havent seen a firmware update for the k850i branded to orange. is there one ?
also is it possible to get it unlocked/ debranded yet ?
any help apreciated thankyou |
