I had my first reboot today and i had flashed my phoen 4 days ago i think.
Hmm i guess it's worth a shot. But now a don't seem to find the nordic combined version(unbranded) for velvet blue, only for luminous green and that's strange! |

I updated through SEUS too, and have experienced 2 random reboots, both when connected to my computer via USB. Other than that I'm happy with the new FW, don't really want to spend 10€ every time a new FW is released, and its a right hassle reinstalling everything! |

Well i feel like testing if it might would resolve the reboot-problem by flashing to the -31 on Da Vinci but as i said i don't seem to find the version (nordic combined)for the velvet blue K850 in the list of all firmware versions on the Da Vinci page. If they bother to put the version for the lumonous green they should put the version for velvet blue too. I could try to just pay 10 credits and see what versions appears in the client/flash program prior to the actual flash but i don't want to spend that kind of money finding out there is no version for my velvet blue.

Just move anything important (files, pics, apps, etc) to the mem card and back up the rest (contact, calendars, phone numbers, notes, bookmarks, etc) through the PC Suite. |

All the FWs are listed on the website, you dont have to buy credits to see them. But whats the difference between green and blue software anyway? I thought it was only for accounting purposes for Sony and the Carriers? |

Dont be shy about updating with Davinci mate. They have a good support Team etc so yea.
Its super easy. Grab some credits, choose like Western Europe (Your already unlocked and we know 031 is out for this), click flash and sit tight! The Client will download approx 70mb of data from Davinci server and hey presto! New Firmware, clean installed on your magic K850.... It will be magic by this time you see.
Ok well i'm willing to give it a go but is any of the 031 firmwares actually good for my phone (any recommendations?) as i can't see anything UK or western europe related. Only thing i can see is a France one. Or is the region next to it just more language related than phone related? Not that i would imagine the phones are much different from country to country but hey what do i know
Cheers,

Yeah maybe you are right in that it is only for accounting purposes. I got a bit confused since ther where an option to choose between the green or the blue K850 when i downgraded my phone to the old -37 firmware. Just wondering if they could see that i have flashed my phone in a "shady way" to a green version of the K850 firmware if i ever send it to a SE-service center?

I had China, UK, and now Singapore for the 31. There isn't any difference as far as I can tell just different language packs. The SG came with a couple of asian videos, pics, and screen savers. The screen saver caught me by surprise the first time. Its an asian guy with a straw hat... lol
I am pretty sure they can see that you flashed it in a shady way regardless if you were to send it to a SE center.

Okay
Well if the "experts" at a SE-center can see that i have a "green version firmware" in my blue K850, maybe they will void my warranty.
But what the hell, it's allready voided since i have taken the lensglass out off the phone.
Hmm i think i'll have a go then..i'll be 10 euro's shorter but i guess a can cut back on the beer this weekend.....or not
It does sound promesing that you hadn't had any reboots! And the sound is better in the media player as it is in my phone also?

Oky, thanks.
Well i'll have a go at it then. When i re-flashed my phone at Da Vinci it resolved my "operation falied" issue with the java applications(in that particular case the phone probably just needed a proper complete flash) but i doubt it will resolve this reboot issue.
I will do this and report back and tell if i get any more re-f***ing-boot's in the comming days:)

I just debranded my Telstra K850 using KulanKendi client. The reason being is that it only cost 8 euro and you could flash 3 times within 24hrs (in case u make a mistake).
So at first I loaded a generic western europe R1DA038 and it worked fantastic. Then I read that the new R1EA031 firmware is out and so I thought I'd use SEUS to update it. Well this didn't work as SEUS said that my phone already had the latest version on it.
I then read on another forum that SEUS will update it only if it is R1DA037 - so using my second flash credit I downgraded to a generic western europe R1DA037. I then re-tried to use SEUS and it worked but then WTF!!!, IT SAYS TELSTRA R1DA038 is the next available update?!?!?! How the hell did it decide that the GENERIC western europe firmware should be replaced with the poxy TELSTRA firmware again?? I just paid 8euro to DE-brand it! I'm certainly not going to let it be RE-branded from SEUS.
So I used my last remaining credit to re-flash back to the generic western europe R1DA038 and have left it at that for the moment.
My conclusion - There is something in the hardware that allows SEUS to detect that it is a Telstra phone and will always try to restore the Telstra firmware.
Anyone else had this problem? Any other Telstra K850's able to update to R1EA031?
After debranding, you should also change your CDA (this costs also 1 of 3 credits - and Davinci makes it automatically). CDA is a 8 digit signature that tells SEUS which firmware (country and operator) to download. So if you changed your FW and kept the old CDA SEUS is still thinking that phone is branded. |

Fullforce, really bad to see that you and other users still get firmware problems, like someone sad really strange this issues, some dosen t have any problem at all like me, and others have these re boot problems,
I have flashed my firmware once in davinci, I have a green K850i, but i´m have flashed with the blue firmware, and i can tell you that is no diference at all, all pictures, themes everything is the same... i dont know how can they differ wich is wich, you can see know that Davinci isn´t putting all colors in these firmwares becouse they are all the same trust me.

Thanks for your input!
I have just now flashed the -31 firmware again to get a more toatal flash, at Da Vinci (they only had the green one but as you say they don't differ) . So now i'll be testing the phone and see if my issues have dissapeared. I'm mostly curious to see if the phone will stop rebooting. |
