you do know that they don't always show the latest prototypes at Expos
and even the same "models" may have different firmwares on the same shelf at Expos
for example the X1 shown at a lot of press conferences had WM6.0 installed, instead of the real deal...
Thats crap. But I think at those ones the reporters were not allowed to touch the menus at all right? It was a whole "9 panels concept".

But it's not right to say that I used an early proto whereas poplover used a newer one??? |

whenever a new platform comes out, it takes time for the middle ware to catch up. sometimes the technology is there, just that it's out of sync with production and shipment (or production cost, which is more of a concern outside Japan). it is safer to wait for a 2nd revision whenever there's a huge change. e.g. get the k750i instead of k700i, get the n82 instead of the n73, get the n95-8gb instead of the n95. but that's a general rule, as you can see how nokia's spending so much time on speeding up and debugging s60 fp2 before anything comes out, they've prolly learnt the lesson.
trust me, the speaker on n95 n82 are far better than that found on so905ics. the music you heard at the back was from the restaurant, not from the phone. i wish the phone can be that loud too. |

The two high end devices which are non UIQ are as I mentioned earlier Shiho. The other is Alicia; a walkman clam.
Maybe PK could fill out the dots |

Ha Ha Ha... I tried all new phones other than W380 (I forgot to use it)...
W960 is not that loud... G900 was the loudest amongst all the new ones... W760 was very much like W580 in sound, much louder than W980... Infact, I could hardly hear the volume of W980 or X1 (ofcourse the place was really noisy)...
As for G900's speed, I think the way we used them was different as well as our satisfactory levels... |

High End Non-UIQ Walkman Clamshell? We already have one called the W980i. Why doesn't SE make a high end Cybershot Clamshell? |

well, sure they wont use the japanies OS or what every name those japs use
so I'm expecting not that diff from or lovely OS
BTW, about the CPU and RAM in UIQ, RAM size is not every thing, RAM speed will be very helpfull in this time, in current time we are looking at two possible bottle neck in UIQ systems, CPU speed and RAM speed
if the RAM is slow, then CPU wont be able to show of it's glory, and if the RAM is fast but CPU is slow then the speed of RAM will not be a problem as CPU will not be able to use it !!
we have to maintain both all spec to be fine, I still remember that the some UIQ phones does not run the CPU at it's full clock I don't remember which but I can see it may be related to two reasons, 1- battery time issues. 2- RAM is unable to handle faster datarate when the CPU works in full speed.
