about MIDP3.0, all the companies have been informed about MIDP3. Though, based from Java's own website, they are only allowed to use up to version 2.0 at the moment. So the rest depends on when Sun will distribute MIDP3.0.

IMO, the earliest MIDP3.0 will come is the end of this year. Think of how long it took many companies to implement MIDP2.0 after it was announced.

More info about Paris.

It is the replacement of P1 but I guess you knew that. Everything is touch based, but there is a pen for those that like that.

I'm rather hoping for a lot more touch devices this year, it will be great to see a nice flashy new UI.

Stylus is the correct word yes

He called it a pen but the correct phrase is stylus.

He also told me that Shiho is one of the most interesting phones. The replacement for K850.

Shiho has TV/Out, HSDPA, Xenon flash, A-GPS, WLAN, Cybershot slider, HSUPA, BT 2.1.

I could say what the mpx is, but I promised not to reveal that

Did your source say anything about announcement dates?

The K850i replacement sounds really really cool. And I'm guessing by what you said that its more than 5MP!

Cheers!

Shiho sounds hot. Hopefully it is at least TriBand HSDPA/HSUPA or possbily QuadBand (can't forget the North American users). Also Megapixels means nothing if they use a similar lens to K850i (which isn't up to par).

MIDP 3.0 to be finalized mid April - and given the new climate of Java Apps (also considering Motorola's RokR E8 is already VM upgradeable to it), I'm sure it won't take long for SUN to release it ... its also a license hence why some companies took so long to implement it. I already see some implementations being worked on at the SE developer forum.

Amen. I think 1 model will have it, while another will not. Just praying Tri-band is enabled out the door. A new platform to support HSUPA?

VarioOptics built by Seiko should begin to ship by quarter 3/4 this year .... any chance this will use that technology to acheive Optical Lense? (Liquid Optical is faster & less power hungry and has a smaller footprint than existing digital lenses; all the things we want in our SE phones).
