Let's think logically. After CTIA, when is the next possible announcement? If its not for several months, then the P5i is more likely. If theres a few announcements coming up, then the announcement date of the P5i is anyone's guess.
If I remeber correctly, after CTIA is Communicasia at Singapore due in June this year. So it's only about 2 months apart. IMO, it's not very far apart because it's still Q2 for the conference, and they can announce it then and release it Q3 or Q4 this year. So right now there's 2 possibilities. I really highly doubt SE will wait to announce Pnext in 3GSM Asia at the end of the year since it will be too late. So it's either CTIA or Communicasia. The only key is when it will be selling.
Well, conference doesn't = to announcement. I remember they announced Z610i on my birthday, which there was no conference at that time. Just came out of random. So we can't really rely all on conference dates. |

Oh man I'm gonna love this phone... really love it! I'm just hoping a full black case is made for it; else I'll get me a silver one.
Does anyone have ANY information on when SE will implement MIDP3 in their phones, recently announced, available, or upcoming?
A huge conference on April 14 - I think - is when MIDP3 is ratified. For those that are not sure what MIDP3 is ... MIDP2 is the java VM specs our phones currently use. MIDP3 allows for apps to be cross ported and usuable (another major reason for the A200 phone layout), and most importantly Java apps available & running at startup, also sharing their data between one another. Can you say minimal smartphone capabilities everyone? I knew you could.
Yes I'm completely STOKED on MIDP3.
