When selecting 'HSDPA' I have noticed that the battery is considerably worse than it was on 037 firmware. I am in Manchester and get HSDPA reception most of the time.
However, when I select '3G & GSM', I've found the battery to be as good as, if not better than 037. This is strange because with the 037 firmware I was still receiving HSPDA reception most of the time, but for what I use it for, the speed difference is negligible so I'm happy to stick with 3G and extend my battery life!! |

@ belmondo, as tonchy have said, 038 is branded fw. you can recheck your fw version as I told you to be sure. If it is 038 that means it is branded.
@ tonchy, great work there! |

@tonchy
I read your pros n cons..nice job..
Anyway..wat do mean by "32 hours of heavy usage"?? It seems pretty suprising to me..or rather very shocking..coz u said the battery was still 45%..
So..Explain dude...
Btw..there's not much difference between w910i's battery & k850i's..is it? Some difference in battery life coz of sensor n stuff is assumed.. |

as a note, I too am on generic_so (flashed it to the UK one using davinci) and it tells me there isn't an update available
Interestingly, before, I had the Orange version of 037 then flashed to the generic 037. I found the orange version to be much faster and much more stable, so although they modify it to hell, they made some improvements to it! |

@tonchy,
nice post with the pros & cons..it really helps lots of us here,
but i think you should add the smart search issue on the cons

Nobody knows that. Hopefully not as long as for generic. |

I had a problem with net browsing after firmware download via SEUS
-inactive demo tour
-internet profiles unavailable
-no hsdpa settings
so I went to a SE center and they had it fixed, except to the hsdpa settings.
Now I don't know whether I'm using top browsing speed or not... |

I guess he means he can turn the light on an off while recording video. Beforehand you had to have the light on or off before recording. |

exactly. Before, you have to turn the led on first before recording a video. And when recording video, you can't turn it off on the spot.
