i found from semcblog:

BeiBei and Paris

SEMC Blog gets info, that model names of BeiBei and Paris will be known at 16 week of 2008 year. Today start 11 week. So names of BeiBei and Paris will be known after 1,5 month. Maybe at 16 weeks will be new Sony Ericsson announcement?

My brother does that thing all the time (not putting "?") in sms messages and i'm making fun of him. Then he becomes upset and it's more funny.
Being the small brother has good things.

why does it seem like everyone here missed the point of the x series phone.

X for XPERIA aka Experience ... NOT PROFESSIONAL!

P for Professional aka NOT a toy.

the x1 is the media centered device, for the casual highend user(s), the P is for the powerhouse user the one that wants more than a mere xperience with their phone, they want it to espouse a philosophy of superiority, churning out a iphone clone a year out of its release is redundant and frankly unecessary its a niche that apple will not soon relinquish. SE needs to stick to making phones that work properly and devices that have as much functionality as possible in a given form factor.

hence the outsourcing to HTC.

X1 is definitly not the media centered device, why ? indication is the internal memory - X1 is the new office device, thats why its using Windows and carrying a keyboard

Business users typically want Windows based or Blackberry based devices nowadays.

Many years ago when Symbian was the only serious option out there, you could have said that UIQ was *the* business phone but Microsoft have upped their game while Sony Ericsson and Symbian fumbled the ball.

UIQ 2 was years ahead of Windows Mobile but when went to Symbian 9 with UIQ 3 we lost that advantage. All the apps had to be rewritten from scratch and the hardware flaws of the P990 (lack of memory, slow CPU) and bugs in Symbian (memory leaks, slow transitions) gave the competition time to catch up and overtake.

Now factor in the surprise Apple entry to the mobile phone market with the iPhone and are now fighting two battles - the business end smart phone and now a wow factor, multimedia device.

Seeing as business users want Windows Mobile, why try forcing Symbian and UIQ down that route? Build a phone with Windows mobile, twiddle the interface and be done with it. There's minimal development costs and you give the target market what they want.

Which leaves Symbian and UIQ. What to do with this? If you read between the lines you can speculate that the P1 replacement could very well be multimedia focused, large screen with some business functionality and you have the answer to the iPhone.

Of course this is speculation and until/when/if reveal their plans we won't know what their business plan is.

But I wish they would bloody well hurry up!
