On 031 now, some nice improvements esp the photo viewing effect:) gotta love it. The vibration is irritating to me tho..the pics are better as well now its more difficult to get a blurred pic:) the small globe icon when using gprs in opera mini is also gone so it no longer blocks my news feeds:)
My volume bar still disappears tho but i can still change the volume so its fine. The msg speed can go faster as i tend to type faster than it can register..
Other than that its a good start, se on the right track imo so it should just get better from here:)
P.s. I dont think 031 is a test firm as a world famous co will never release it, ppl will get fired if its the case and they will recall it. All se updates take a slow step by step increase in stability and functionality so lets all hang in there. |

hehehe yestaerday that pop up frame worked with hbh but i ve chaged now and ... it doesn`t work aswell so i don`t understand nohing now ... Maybe it depends of part of the day ? .... lol

Really so what do you say about release k850i ? That was TEST not firmware but HARDWARE TEST ...

No it was just a suggestion about that SE can release something that is not finished ... K850i was kind of BETA like for me ... a lot of bugs not only in SW but in HW aswell ...  I just wanted to say you that ... |

Interesting that noone mentioned video/audio sync bug. In older firmwares video would speed up a bit to catch the audio, now it doesn't, the whole clip is desynced.
To me its a big problem because I have loads of videos on my phone. |

I'm encoding videos @15 fps to satisfy the sync issue. it's a shame it can't make it up to 30fps

my XP so far with EA31...
1.) media player is lot more faster.... it indexes the fiiles even faster.. and now it shows both videos and pictures...
2.) sound quality is lot better...
3.) but the megabass and Bass sound very similar / same... nothing noticeable.. found the same problem in 037 also...
4.) yes the menu are very fast.. i think its way too better than k800... its really responsive..
5.) i liked the vibration for touch keys...
6.) games are very fast too....
7.) message are fast...
8.)battery is also good so far...
9.)theme especaily some flash which changethe media player especailly from eseth...( p.s they are really the good site ffor flash theme... i am not saying that thier theme is breaking the media player ... but the problem lies within the FIRMY...)
10.) touch keys respond well... beter than prev firmy...
11. ) photos are now not that noisy.. but still not yet that smooth and perfect as k750/k800...
12.)external speaker sound seems to be increased...
13.)the picture animation is also very good but if there are soo amny pictures.. u may miss the effect on fast change between the photos...
14.) still there is lag in video... ie when u change the orientation...
15.)again... the phone on the whole is responsive and fast.... |

Here are my findings regarding K850i R1EA031 with APAC-ANZ customisation, of CDA 1201-8437, Customised Indonesia Blue. The findings may be not something new as they have been discovered and discussed by previous posters. I may be wrong in some parts too.
1. When running any Java-based applications, such as Opera Mini or Gmail--which requires internet connection, you will NO longer see the small blue globe icon on the top corner...the icon used to be an indicator that you are having the internet connection. It's removed now. As a result, you don't know whether you have been successfully connected to the internet or not.
2. PhotoMate application is still prompting you the same "Application uses too much memory" message only if you have downloaded ALL modules. Even though it's Java 8.2, the memory management is still the same as the previous firmware. If you just download some modules, not ALL, the application likely runs just smoothly.
3. Better refresh rate in the camera view finder. However, my phone's display shows darker picture. It used to be overbright in the previous firmware.
4. More bassy sound when Mega Bass is activated. The sound is much louder now. Great to listen to even via an ordinary standard HPM-62.
5. Faster contact browsing.
6. Some new icons are presented in this new firmware. For instance the icons you find when accessing Email--Settings---POP 3 and SMTP. Also when you are calling somebody, and the network is busy, and the phone tells you to retry, the icon has been changed. Also the indicator of Aa, aa, 123 or else when you are wriying a text has been changed its background into dark black. And others I may have been skipping...
7. Faster Media Player indeed...
8. Switching to camera snapshot view mode doesn't open your lens cover anymore. That's great...
9. BUG : The phone CANNOT respond correctly when you want to highlight your folders set by file name/ alphabet in File Manager. To illustrate, try to go to Theme folder. Sort your files by file name. Press A, then you go to A themes, B to B themes, Z to Z themes, NO PROBLEM. But if you have sub-folders in this Theme folders, you will NO longer be able to go to the correct folder. Say for instance you have these sub-folders:
A Themes
B Themes
..............
D Themes
..............
J Themes
..............
P Themes
...............
Z Themes
Now press J on the keypad, the highlight goes to L. Now press P, the highlight goes to S. The phone does NOT respond correctly! That's so bad...
10. The Media Player background bug. The Landscape and Portrait background will disappear after you change screen orientation while playing some music...that's ugly, especially for themes with customised Media Player background.
11. Vibration option for softkeys is nice although I always deactivate it. It's annoying IMHO.
12. HSDPA option is present too...impossible to use here in my small town. So it's personally useless.
13. The text revision BB brings some new terms for my Indonesian language. Smart search used to be translated "Cari Pintar", now it is " Pencarian Cerdas".
14. No more phone guide displayed to you when you turning on the phone if you swap SIM Cards. It used to prompt you little starting guide such as setting dates and copying contacts. Now it doesn't.
15. If you happen to set a theme with Tittle Small image embedded, the image will partially show up in your Desktop. This little 'disturbance' has been present since R1CA037. Refer to Themes Creator to get more insight about it.
16. BestPic mode may occassionally produce totally dark pictures with no snapshots captured at all. The solution is just rebooting the phone.

ontop of whatever enhancements and bugs which this new firmware provides, did anyone notice that incoming SMSes no longer has caller ID attached to it ? or is this a setting which i need to set some where? It was default before i flashed it though. |

Got a new bug, small and quite tolerable tho.
Got to camera mode using menu instead of the side shutter button. Now go back by using back hence right touch key. Voila, your background just disappeared:) laser precision works fine tho..
Im smelling a new theme creator around the block:) |
