BUT SE (formerly known as Ericsson hehe) DO MAKE THE BEST PHONES THERE IS.....period.
The other phones MIGHT work, but they look like crappola (not an italian dish), have UI's that look like WIN95 against XP and simply don't appeal to me.....
This doen't meen I can't gripe about the phones |

Are you perfect? Can you boss count you you do do something perfectly everytime? Go back to a phone that does not have a camera, .mp3 player, or any of the features that easily take for granted. You are a complainer.

People shouldn't be too sensitive to the comments in this thread. For me, there's no criticisms on SE. The issue here is a practical one for the consumer who doesn't have time to tinker with their key communication tool. A lost call or screwed up file transfer function could mean financial loss for some. Patience for a stable and reliable release is a wise move for some. |

True, but as long as you have phones that are no longer phones, but camera phones, mobile office platforms, data transmission devices, and you want this in a small package, delivered every quarter, you will get devices that need to be updated constantly. This is a fact of life. If someone's financial life depends on a device as such, they should have a backup or not put their life in the hands of a device that is the prone to fail when you might need it most.
With this being said, I am an early adopter. I usually will have the latest and greatest but only if I have a use for it. I can get a k750i for 220 Euro brand new but I don't because it is not 3G. If it had 3G, I would surely have one and suffer through the shortcomings until SE fixes them. You pays your money, you take your chances.

The other comment to be made is that updating the firmware in a mobile phone is a lot more of a hassle than upgradeing softwares in your computer. With firmwares, you'll typically have to either attend to one of the service centres or mail it in. And then there's all the reconfigurations afterward. For busy people, it's lost productivity.
I don't think SE has bad intentions in their initial releases. The firmwares may be less optimised for speed and what have you, and problems may only show up when you are pushing all the advanced features. For most users who don't really use those special features, they'll be as happy on v1 of the firmware as the very last version in the series. For some, stability and full performance with the very last version is mission critical. |

Most of the configuration setting can be sent OTA, so this presents ZERO problem. Maybe you have to manually set up a ringing tone or contacts again, but storing all data on the MS DUO prevents lose of data. I still do not see the problem here. I flashed a v800 to z800. I had the phone back to the way it was in 30 mins, with 3G, WAP, MMS, email, ringing tones---->contacts, and profiles configured. I do not think anyone here considers their phone any less mission critical.
