T39....
R520....
T68......
T68i....
T610...
T630...
K700i...
WHEN ARE WE GOING TO LEARN?
Every SE phone (phones above) I have owned have had problems/bugs in the first phones from the factory. I was nearly the first to buy all of the phones above and I had trouble with every single one of them. The pain, the anguish, the horror........ok back to something serious here.
I wan to buy the K750, but I'm not going to because I have learned. Give it 2-3 months all almost 80-90% of the bugs will have dissapeared like magic...
SO WHY ARE WE STILL BYING THE FIRST PHONES TIME AND TIME AGAIN....yes I know we love them, but isn't it time SE got their finger out of their a-hole and not send out phones they know don't work?

That's what SE gave the advice to consumers, but it seems no body listens, all they're mind has is "Me Want Phone, NOW!" |

Hmmmm. I don't remember Sony Ericsson telling people not to by it's phones for two to three months?!? If so, customers would only encounter the bugs at a later date.
@TeleSaint
Surely it would be worth S/E's while to extend thier product development times by say 1 month, even use focus groups to trial prototype models? This would only work if they announced thier new models closer to the release date. |

As long as its not too bad I like getting a new phone "NOW" and see it get better and better as the updates comes. Now its even better when we are able to upgrade at home. |

Well I must be the luckiest guy in the world because I had no problem whatsoever with my K750 bought a month ago, amongst the very first buyers of the phone! Only some minor bugs such as the date in English instead of French, or the puzzle game froze once...
No seriously, I think there are some problems but most people's phone is fine I think, but we only hear people who are not happy, because the others are too busy enjoying their amazing phone

When we have more options added in a future firmware upgrade, we feel better. Rather than being stuck with a bug that will never go.

@TeleSaint: Maybe change thread name to "Never buy first batch of ANY mobile phone!" ?
I think is doing a good job with new FWs
And for the record T68 is a Ericsson /// phone |

That's why I am always 1-2 models behind in the mobile phone technology tree. Just bought a T630 for 1/4 of latest model price and has the latest firmware (bug free). Perfectly happy to save that 3/4 of the full price for some other gadgets.
I've learnt to avoid brand new model, first batch off the production line, first model with a new features etc. I've had enough with repeated trips to get the firmware updated along with all the reconfigurations required. In this series, I considered T610 to be the first version and T630 to be the "fixed" version. |

Absolutely, i couldnt agree more.. ive been a passionate fan and have not faced any significant issues with SE phones, new or old... having used several other phones prior to my se run, imo have by far been the most trouble free phones ive ever used..maybe i got lucky..but all the same
Hell...Windows has bugs too...would that stop you from upgrading to he latest version once its out???

It's true that this statement applies to pretty much all tech products. But whether one get the latest or wait, for me, depends on a few other factors eg. Need for reliability, Available time to tinker, Special features required, Compatibility with other products etc. For a phone where 24/7 reliability counts as #1, I would wait. Further I absolutely needs it to work with my other Bluetooth products and be able to sync properly with my Mac. I guess those very latest screens and the extra MPs doesn't excit me as much as my need for reliability in a phone. As for a computer OS, well, that's another set of priorities. We are all different. |

That is good advice. I will be waiting until the model I will be buying next is out for a few month.

That is practical. Like a movie, wait for reviews and opinions and then watch it. Yet top class fans fight to watch the 1st day 1st show.
