@neonw: be careful, or you'll get flamed.

Anyways, philips does not manufacture cellphones, they buy the technology from other smalltime manufacturers and put their brandname on it.

yea right!! are known for poor reception

I decided to move on to another manufacturer after being loyal to SE for 3 years due to poor RF.

All the SE phones I've used have always developed Reception related problems.

1- the first was a t300 which started loosing signal from full to zero bar in full signal areas after 5 months. I thought this was a network problem but later realized the phone was responsible/faulty.

2-the second was a t610 which also had the same problem as t300.

3-the third and last was a p800 which started dropping only outgoing calls after being used for 6 months. I thought this was a network problem but later realized it was the phone after trying different phones with the same SIM.

I've since deserted SE due to RF problem and now use a Siemens S55 which I'm very pleased with.

talking of Philips making televisions, did you know that Siemens make traffic lights?

Anyways - people with a dislike of Samsung - have any of you used the D500? I'm eyeing it up as my next phone

1. Motorola - crap!
2. Siemens - only decent phone was ME45
3. Samsung - all looks no substance ('cept D500)
4=nokia & se.....although recent products of both have been rather disappointing of late....

There are three threads- one about the D500 and the other two comparing it with the K700 and S700. Check them out. It might be of some help in choosing your next phone. I am on wap so i can't link.

@neonw

I don't have any reception problem here for my t610. May be it's your telco's problem.

Least like to buy :
LG, Nokia, Moto, Siemens, BenQ, Philips, Birds(from china), Alcatel, Panasonic, Sagem, Dbtel, Hyundai, Innostream(from China), Mitsubishi, Geo, Haier, Pantech, Sonata & etc.
Reasons I won't buy :
Already mentioned by others.

Anyway, for those who says samsung sucks(I was samsung user b4 and agreed with those who said the phones sucks BUT NOT ANYMORE), check out their new release D500 (samsung's 1st BT and 1.3 Mp phone with 100mb memory). I like the phone very much. The thing is how long should I wait b4 I tell myself "Just go get it, doesn't matter about the price".

I've seen the phone. It's better looking than SEk700 definitely. Sexy, full of features. Good quality pictures and play video too.

Samsung.
I don't like clamshell type.
Candy bar type of Samsung also sooo ugly.
Samsung doesn't know what connectivity or compability is.
Price? Whooo, too expensive compares to other brands with the similar features.
Anything else?

Apple iPhone 4, HTC Evo 3D, HTC Sensation, HTC Inspire 4G, HTC Desire S, HTC Wildfire, S001, SO905iCS, T650 (Gold & Green), C901, W800, K660, K700, Beibei (G702), Severine (DEAD)

But samsung sells here in India. Infact, it sells more color handsets than Nokia!
