The last time I checked Esato was a mobile phone forum ...

@masseur
That little maneuver was well executed.
I agree with you though, I think there is too much rubbish too. kimcheeboi does raise a good point though, who is to decide what is nonsense and what isn't, sometimes it isn't always so clear.

All the more reason to just leave it! You would be tiptoeing around, pm'ing all the authors, most of whom would be saying "Yeah, just leave my thread alone". It would be a lot of work, and (imo) would make very little difference.

I think the best way to cut down on nonsense is to try and implement measures that would stop it happening in the first place. Threadjacking is probably one of the worst causes of nonsense, can't we come up with a way to try and reduce the amount of threadjacking that goes on?

A lot of what is percieved as threadjacking is never intended. Its a discussion forum, discussions do tend to wander from point to point.

@meths
True, but I am meaning the more obvious deliberate threadjacks.

almost impossible to stop jacking i think. sometimes a jack happens naturally, the question/problem has been answered, so the discussion moves on. th only two answers i think are move the thread to garbage and let them carry on (which is more or less what happens now) or delete the posts not directly related to the original post then lock the thread. but if that happens a new thread will be started with the jacked subject and the result is the same except now there are 2 threads instead of one.
edit: beaten to it! but yeah thats what i wanted to say !

but a new thread with an on-topic discussion about whatever is not threadjacked. Worst that could happen is that they get 'out of control'

topics posted on garbage forums are brain sludge (annoying little things that never go away).. everyone has a little sludge stuck in their heads that need a way out. so, one must treat garbage threads as a sewer system for brain sludge.
maybe the popular ones can be spared and the utterly nonsensical ones stopped (again... its way too hard to define it.)

@masseur--thanks for clarifying that with me, i guess it was a misunderstand (and paranoia! ) after all
And if as you say you haven't seen a 'delete-able' thread since last week ( i know whiich one that was ) then i guess its not that big of a deal.
Still, I think that the priority of esato is kind of off right now; its the real (as i explained) garbage that needs to be taken care of, not the garbage in the garbage forums.
Not sure if i'm making any sense

jojo if you agree with us, then why do you want to see garbage go? No more login-logout, no more m&m advice, no more pictures in your head, no more, no more, no more.

@meth's - NOPE mate! What I mean to say is to INCORPORATE ALL posts found in those two THREAD ! Why would they LOCK/DELETE some fantastic threads at the Garbage Forum, specially that of the Lonely Hearts, had not for it (and advises given) . . . I would have been a sittin' duck right now, still waiting for my LOVE to LOVE me back ! |

Why the posts made in garbage threads not accessible from mobile phone?

Simply because most of the topics in there are topics we have moved from other forums around Esato. They have not quite qualyfid to be removed but hasn't been "worthy" ( Got to add a smily so I don't get slaughtered by the Garbage gang ) a place in the WAP browser.
Btw, I'll lock this topic while I'm at it. The rest of this topic is well out of date anyway.
