I like SE and its phones, I think they are much better than Ericsson's phones (by their look aswell). In my humble opinion Ericsson had a tendenecy to manufact some kind of square-phones or how ever you want to put it.

@bobafett no problem. Yeah i've had 3 ericssons and the technology they had wasn't bad it was just the oldish design which was pretty horrible. Seems like SE changed that in a positive way - that's why i'm waiting for "chubby" (read: z1010)
don't get me wrong there's nothing wron with nokia.. it's just that i got pretty bored with the menu (which is the best one i've used). |

What i like in nokia is its fast UI. The ability to create new sms at ease. Pinoys like nokia coz we love sending sms rather than making a phone call. The best nokia i had was d n8250. But nothing beats the design of the ///t39.

At the time when Ericsson was making 'squarish' phones, Nokia wasn't making any phones! As matter a fact, it was making TVs for hotels (And that's how it made money as a company and later on invested in the world of mobiles). And lets not forget that when Ericsson was showing the world GH337, the first small mobile phone in the world which was half the size of the palm of your hand, the other makers were still holding bricks against their heads. It took good amount of time (years...) until any other mobile phone manufacturer reached that size! So respect to the company that introduced the true meaning of mobility in terms of size...
Nokia lifted off where Ericsson left off, and until Ericsson hit back the mobile market, Nokia had the chance sell any new model they were releasing and win the majority of the consumers. So Nokia isn't any more than what Ericsson was back then.
Anywayz, just to be clear, I'm not dissing Nokia or anything like it. I'm just mentioning facts. And Nokia better watch out, because their phones start becoming really dull, both in terms of design and.
- 7200's only news is only its looks (Which is by the way 95% girly) and lacks in any other features (Small screen, no new features).
- 5140, 6230, although their design isn't bad or something like it, it is of a design-style that we've seen over and over again in the past years and have already got tired of it.
- Phones such as 7600, 7610 and 7700 are nothing but extremities. 7600 and 7610 are something of 3650 and Siemens' SX1 - 'Let's have fun with the design, but not give a damn about it's functionality!' (SMS for instance is a pain on these phones!). 7700, although feature packed, it truly misses the point of mobility - It simply to HUGE in order to be phone or a smart-phone.
- 6800, 6810 and 6820 - Total failures - Both i terms of concept and sales...
And don't go on mentioning that I only talk about the design, while I forget important things, such as tech features. I'll just mention my friend who bought 6230 (The 'complete phone' as some Nokia fans call it). Well, for a start, he can receive the MMS settings from nokia.com but NOT the WAP! Then, Nokia PC Suite can't 'find' the phone when searching for devices to connect via bluetooth (Although his bluetooth dongle works perfectly well and he can explore the phone through Windows XP's explorer). And without Nokia's PC Suite he can't for instance install any new games or applications! (While on other phone brands you simply do it with your operating system's default explorer). Also, any file that is a bit larger, such as MP3s or videos, the uploading gets interrupted in most attempts, for no apparent reason. And when trying to listen the MP3 from the phone's speaker, many times the volume gets stuck on such a low level, that it barely can be heard (Although it appears to be turned on to max!). I can go on mentioning more defects, but I guess you already get my point (And lets not talk about firmware updating - The problems are too many to be fixed in within the first updates!...)
At this point I want to mention my T610 - Since day one it haven't given me ANY problems. On the contrary, it became even better with its firmware updates (New features). Oh yes - And for the T610, you don't need extra software to install games and applications - you just drag and drop the files directly to your phone…
The only Nokia phone that did well in many points is 6600, but sadly and with no further logic, it appears that Nokia stops 'pushing it, as its software range starts becoming very limiting (And not much new comes out...). I guess they are busy releasing their latest babies... (This complain was actually made by my best friend – a Nokia fan and a 6600 owner)
PS. Although an Ericsson/ SonyEricsson follower (Since early 90s!), I don't 'hate' any other mobile maker. As matter a fact, I'm always open to the maker that is going to make the most complete mobile (At the specific time). I simply can't afford anymore on supporting brands...

Nokia can sell so many fones they just want to, but will never reach the high level in support as once /// and now se. Its not enough to sell and that was it!

I don't hate Nokia. In fact, i love them.
I wish they'd keep making shitty phones for the masses, while SE makes works of art for the real phone appreciators.
A bit like Ford and Aston Martin, i doesn't matter how much cars Ford sells, it'l never reach Aston Martin's uniqueness and quality. I just love DB7 Vanquish.
The good news is that SE phones are much cheaper compared to Nokia phones (feature-wise).

Nokia aint a bad fone company as far as India is concerned. there are some models which did very well. for instance in Chennai - India, there were very few models that were a commercial suxxes  N5110, 3310, 8210, 8250. today a person selling nokia fones is a confused as a person going to buy it, if not more. my personal preference of a nokia fone is the 8890 which i never owned coz i cud never leave a /// for any other brand. Erection is an obsession (spelling mistake, Ericsson). my first /// fone was a GF768, which for many years stopped traffic, i mean, u know guys. then the T66 though i shouldnt say much about my association with it. Then the most famous T68 no the T68i but the original Ericsson T68, gime one fone from nokia even today that can be compared to the T68. Now the P900. do i need to tell more. watz a nokia compared to the SeP900.

Yes, nokia used to be user-friendly phone, not now anymore, they are having lots of software problems, now and then gotta to back for software upgrades. Perhaps they launched too many models at a time and overlook on QC. and their prices depreciate very fast over a couple of months it drops more than 30%. Just too bad, I one of Nokia user but have switch over to SE since T68i |

The most peculiar thing is the bad audio qualite of many nokias. I have several calls aday via my wired telephone. When speaking with nokia I must often guess or ask everything 2-3 times to avoid serious missunderstanding. Not fun.
