"cool Nokia"
is a bit of a oxymoron. and for those of you that dont know what it means.....

Oxymoron
noun [C]
two words used together which have, or seem to have, opposite meanings.

and here i was thinking english lessons were a waste of time!

Wow! So many opinions! Well, just saying one more thing (hope I don't get flamed), I started out with a Motorola as my first Pay As You Go, then got a Samsung. Finally, near the end of my time with SprintPCS, I got a Nokia 3585i. I was so excited because I was one of those (as you guys say) "Stupid Young Teens".

However, my buddy was a fan of SE, and had a T68i. I loved his phone, as it allowed for more profiles than my phone. It also told how long the phone had in stand by and for talk time (they removed this from the T616! ) It also had bluetooth and IR! This would allow for wireless headsets! (Mind you all, I didn't know about Bluejacking then).

Well, my Sanyo 4900 (big awful clunker!) ended up breaking, so I ordered a Nokia 6200 for myself, and a 6800 for my wife. Mine had EDGE, and was tiny. My wife's was that flip out keyboard phone for texting.

Well, I eventually got the T68i (two of them) unlocked off of E-Bay. I then wanted the T616 when I saw it (!), but was very mad to see that I just bought the T68i's, and they "came out" with those (I know they didn't just release them, but I just noticed them. My own stupidity, but still, )

Well, I ended up getting these ones. I keep telling Camilla (my wife) that "these phones will be the last ones that I need", but other phones always catch my eye! Right now I'm eyeing the T637 and the K700. I don't think that I really need the T637, but the K700 does have 32MB of memory!!! Just think of how many themes and games that could hold!!! (I'm not much for having my phone play music for me)

I'm trying to convince myself that I can stay with the T616 for alot longer. I mean come on! What else do I need? It's got Bluetooth, IR, polyphonic ringtones, 65k color screen, games, and WAP, seriously, what else is there? I got the radio attachment, and can get the MP3 Player if I want, I've got everything that I need now. (Sides, I'm a college student, I'm not made of money!!!)

By the way, I just wanted to add one thing. I IM alot, via text messaging, and when I'm talking to a PC, I usually switch to a Nokia, cause on that, everything is almost instant. I still don't understand what causes the slowdown in an SE? Oh well. And hey, I do love SE! I just have tolerance for other phones!

I started out using Nokia phones, I have to agree that from model to model the functionality never seems to change.

Nevertheless, I think Nokia has the added advantage of being very user-friendly! It's been one of the easiest phones I've ever had the chance to experience using.

I like SE phones mainly because of the extended battery life - as far as phones go, otherwise, a phone is still a phone to me. Mind you, I'm using the P900 now because it's got added pda features and that's a big plus...kudos to you, SE!

I'm actually in mind to try the Motorola MPx when it comes out - if it's really going to be as powerful as it currently seems to be - and of course if it doesn't cost it's weight in gold or something!

The Motorola MPX200 is out here in Texas. It is about $400 USD, but seems well worth it (though I'm not paying that much for it!!!). And that thing about Nokia's being user-friendly, I totally agree. Like I said, I got hooked on SE's from my friend's T68i, and the menu's totally confused me, and I could never find anything! However, once I got my own SE, I eventually got used to it, but not very easily. I can happily report, though, that I can now find anything that I need on the phone, and I am almost a T616 expert, as I have moved into flashing/unlocking/unbranding SE's! If I had the money, I'd have the T637 and the K700, also!!!

Oh god, I've got to say, in the US, most people are stupid. Nokia's are the popular choice here, as I visited the local phone shop, and saw the Nokia 3100, 3200, 3300, 6820, 6800, 3595, 3650, 2260, 3560, 3620, 6200, 6360 and the 6560!!!

The Motorola (that they had in the store) was the MPX200.

They had the Samsung X426.

Siemens were the Siemens A56i, the Siemens M56 and the S56.

They had the LG G4011.

For the NEC, they had the 515, and the 525.

Sadly, there were only two SE's: the T616 and the T226. What's happening to this world?????

SE's have the best features, but also make the best use of what they have! There are so many phones out there which have great features, but are stunted in the stupidest of ways. Most Nokias - There bluetooth is messed up, i had a samsung v200 and whilst that was ok, the menu system wasn't that good, it had no bluetooth and IR was stunted, and even though it was a powerful phone, it didn't even have java! For both types, customization was the really big issue, with neither accepting themes or using the most common type of ringtone MIDI. My SE has all these things, and while the camera is a not as good as the v200, i am still far happier with my t610. Hell, even my old t300 was more interesting to use, but the screen held it back.
I remember when phones were basic though! I had a motorola t180, and it had NO features at all, and this was standard at the time, and to be fair it lasted me for two years. Nowadays, we can't live without our bluetooths or colour screens. Mind you, having a camera is great.

Wow, didn't realize that Samsung had bluetooth. I've personally never used bluetooth on a Nokia.

Ha ha, I'm super, but I'm not that super!!! I cheated! I just went to the AT&T WS site, looked at the phones they sell online, and picked out the ones that were at the store (for the Nokia's, all of them! How sad!)

My first cellphone was a Philips Diga, quite a few years ago.. Of course it was very basic, but it worked well back then. My next phone was a Nokia 3210. Compared to Philips Diga, it was very advanced with some "cool" and/or "useful" stuff like the T9 for SMS, alarm or games (which got boring after a week ).

After that, Nokia had a lot of phones as mentioned already, all looked different on outside, but the same inside, so I was all fine with my 3210. Well I would prooly upgrade it buy no $$$ on my acount At that time, /// phones didn't appeal to me. They had lots of functions, but the screen was like 1 cm in height, and it was hard to navigate.

And to reply to someones earlier comment, I don't think Nokia copy SE, but rather everyone copy everyone. If someone invent something good, everyone else get it sooner or later. Anyways, I own a T610 now, and I like it very much. It got mostly everything I need handy. Calender, notebook, bluetooth, phone, sms, themes, all this usefull stuff

The only thing I'm missing is a GOOD camera, and ability to use memory cards. But I think I got good phone for a fair prize (well for some ppl, for me it was a fortune, but well Students know what I mean )

Anyways, I love my T610, and my next phone will be a SE, unless something happends, since I won't buy a new phone until 2007 or later
