The new mid range with 120Hz OLED screen Also very nice that Sony not recycling last gen SoC anymore and gave it a new one
so we are looking at...
Snapdragon 6s Gen 1
or
Snapdragon 6 Gen 3
or
Snapdragon 6s Gen 3
or
Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 (highly unlikely)

That is if battery last as long as the xperia 1vi. Full HD is fine with me too after owning both xperia 1v and vi and compared both displays under naked eye and the vi did a better display quality !

I would like to know if we will see an increase in the optical zoom capabilities again. x7.1 is pretty neat.

Hope it have great cooling system too so can maintain better sunlight legibility for longer periods, and can read and write micro sd express. If unable to, at least maintain minimally 100MB/S for huge file size write speed. Currently they usually drop to 35MB/S for huge files transfer 🙃 |

You are saying it is shocking? In a good way or bad way? |

Yesterday, DCS leaked the existence of Sony's first 200MP sensor. And this 200MP sensor seems to be Exmor-T. So it will be used on next gen xperia.

I'll believe it when I see it. I have my doubts. I would be more likely to believe that samsung, apple, or google will use in their next phones.
--------
when do we usually find out credible rumors/news on the next gen xperia? it is mid-march already and sony has been releasing their phone around may for awhile now with a press conference in april or may. Usually, we have some credible rumors or news from FCC filings or whatever.
Seems odd that we have yet to have anything by now, doesn't it?

odd and worrying. thing is, if the phone isn't going to be sold in the US, does it need to go through certification with the fcc?

if it is not going to be sold in the US, no it doesn't need to be. FCC Certification is only required for electronics produced, sold, or distributed in the US.
That being said, europe has the EC, which performs the same function as the FCC but in Europe. I wouldn't be surprised if Sony didn't want to officially sell phones in the US but I'd be shocked if sony did not want to sell or distribute phones in europe. But no leaks coming out of the EC either.
Is this a sign that maybe no phone is coming this year? Maybe it's coming LATER than usual because they went back to the drawing board and decided to put the best of sony back in the phone again? Maybe it will be the first design revamp in awhile? Lots of maybes, but as someone who is looking for an upgrade this year, I need/want some answers soon!

Is there a way to search the EC like the FCC for new fillings? [ This Message was edited by: ascariss on 2025-03-20 00:49 ] |

There probably is, but I am not immediately aware of where to go to do that.
Quick google search didn't make it very obvious either. If there is a way, and sony filed something, then i would imagine SOMEONE would have reported it by now too.
