V700s, now they are cans, max input of 3w, I use V500s for Djin, as for in ear jobbys, I've only ever used Sony, EX70, EX71, EX85 and EX300, and I still maintain that the EX70/71 were the best cans Sony ever made, I've been looking at some new in ear cans and I've gotten nowhere at all, So am sticking to the EX71s for the foreseeable future... |

Are we forgetting one minor detail here that the ipod is much cooler?

In your opinion yes but just cos you think it is does not mean its cooler. I cant stand Apple and Sony makes better quality products and better sound quality imo. Who cares about cool. I cant stand itunes crap |

It was such as revolution that some were motivated to sing about it. I remember Walkman's, nearly every teenager had one in the eighties.

Haha, are you serious? Something that every man and his dog has got is considered cool? I thought cool implied some individuality, otherwise nearly everyone this side of the third world is cool.

That's because Apple has made an effort to make sure un-cool people don't buy the iPod. Same thing with the iMac.

I didn't feel the 'coolness' of the ipod when I had it. Like I mentioned, it is overrated and I don't regret having given it away. |

I really dont care for being cool as people put it i never used to care when i was younger too. I wear decent clothes i have a decent phone and mp3 player who cares for being cool. Having Apple just cos everyone else has it is bit sad to me i consider copying everyone else as uncool. Why not be individual different but still have something cool at the same time. Whats so uncool about the Sony? It has nice design and great features. If you think you gotta have an Apple ipod just to be cool and be noticed in life surely there is something missing in your life. Just my opinion. |

to whom ever said the cx500's sound tinny and hollow, you prob had fakes, cos the original are bassy, a little muddy sometimes. they were comfy, bass lovers would like them, but the highs were not very good. guess it depends on which type of music you listen to though.
and for the price of cx500's, for you guys in the UK, id choose the Jays s-jays over them, Costco members can get them for around 30gbp in the uk. (which reminds me, any costco members shoot me a pm please, id like a pair )
or perhaps look at cheaper options from the likes of Ultimate ears. head direct re2 are very good for the price too.
I dont like having bass heavey earphones with Sony players, since i find the sony sound signature quite warm at times , and their are plenty of EQ options on board if you need more bass. I remember owning some Jays q-jays (amazing earphones) and also some klipsch image x5's, while the x5's were a little more bassy than the q-jays, they q-jays responded very well to EQ'ing on the sony, while the x5's really didnt need too many EQ changes imho.
i will look at getting one of these too. but will need to work more first

I remember people walking around too back in the 1980s with the first Walkman cassette players. They were quite big lol but very nostalgic now. But again i say copying everyone else is uncool individuality is cool. |
