F1 teams unveil vision of future (BBC article)

Proposals for major changes to Formula One's future have been unveiled by the body which represents the teams.

The Formula One Teams' Association (Fota) wants to introduce a new qualifying format and "radical new points-scoring opportunities".

Fota wants to bring in the changes, which also include reducing the duration of Grands Prix, by 2010.

F1 wins will decide world title (BBC article)

Formula 1 has introduced a new points system that will see the driver with most wins crowned world champion.

The current points system will still operate to decide a tie if two drivers have the same wins and to define all other championship positions.

Had the new rules been in place in 2008, Lewis Hamilton would have lost the title to runner-up Felipe Massa.

An F1 track in Tasmania? i Highly doubt it.

No rule introduced for this season.

Drivers title is decided the following way from now on:

The driver with the most RACE WINS, will win the title. Will no longer be decided by points.

Though if their is a tie with the number of race wins at the end of the season, then the winner will be decided with the old points system.

Lucky it wasnt introduced last season, other wise Hamilton would have lost the title to Massa.
