I know you are, max, no worries. I just got my phone back from the SE service centre. I'm seriously irritated now. I previously mentioned that it displays "Insert simcard" upon turning on the phone. Now, after I got it back from the service centre, it displays " Insert correct simcard". This has gotta be a joke. I'm gonna give them a piece of my mind tomorrow.

sorry if this is a stupid question, but have you tried other simcards?

Also I had a problem with my K750 where the simcard became loose in the socket and I cut a thin sheet of cardboard to the size of the simcard and placed that over the simcard to push it firmly onto the contacts and it fixed that problem for good.

@max, I've tried 3 different simcards frm different service providers to no avail. I checked "Simlock" under "Service info" and saw that all the options show up as locked. If I were any other normal customer, I'd be really pissed by now, having to go to the service centre thrice over the same problem. The only reason I'm not losing my temper at them yet is because my workplace is pretty near the service centre and I know one of the staff there. I'm still gonna let her know what I think of their service though. Wish me luck in getting back a working phone soon.

good luck mate. I think you are entitled to a replacement handset - if they can't fix the problem after three returns they have to replace. Atleast that's the common terms of legislated 12 month warranties (regardless of what the manufacturer offer). This is the case in Australia, or atleast used to be last time I checked warranty law.

Well, I've just got it back. No replacement, but the problem's supposedly fixed. I sure hope it is, cos if it isn't, I'm gonna raise hell. Only did a brief check as I'm working. Will do a more thorough check when I get home. The only good thing that came out of this is that I've learnt to appreciate my W810 even more. At least I have one phone that I know will not fail me.

The W810, W800 and K750 are the most rock solid phones ever. If it wasn't hopelessly outdated I'd still be using my K750 now. Once you get used to a large 320x240 screen it's impossible to go back to 176x220.

You've said it dude, they're the most rock solid phones ever, and even though I liked the large display on my Z770, I was much happier going back to my W810 after all the problems I encountered using the K770 and Z770, especially the latter. Still, for those of you who have not met with any problems using the current SE phones, good for you.

Guess what? The same problem has appeared again. There's something seriously wrong with the Z770, or at least the one I have. It's the last time I'm bringing it to the service centre. I'm not sure it's worth anything on the resale market.

You should try to get either a refund or a new phone. Surely you deserve that by now. Where did you get it from?

That's what I thought too, surely by now they would have offered me a replacement at least. But I couldn't send it in because my phone miraculously recognised my simcard just as I was about to send it in. What can I say? It's such a pity cos I really liked how the Z770 looked. I was so happy that SE finally had a clamshell that I found attractive, but now? I think I'll have to sell it off at a huge loss. I believe it's hardly worth anything in the resale market. I got it from one of the service providers. I think I'll be looking at an E51 next.

i've got nothing to say because i just owned my 1st SE,which is the W910i.but all i can say is they gave me a good impression about their phone,so my second phone is going to be a SE for sure.eye-ing the W902 for now,or maybe the W980 when the prices drop.

It's great to hear that. I recall the joy and excitement I experienced when I got my first SE phone. In fact, my second SE phone which I'm still using now, my W810, made me wish that all phones were made like this.

The W980 does seem like an excellent music phone. However, I think the W902 might be a better replacement for my W810. It has a better camera and a card slot which I feel are rather important features to me.

W980 is clamshell... Honestly as a replacement for W810, I find the W902 far more better than W980... It should replace the W810 in everyway. It is some sort of top-all rounder.

Yup, I totally agree with you, mate. I'm looking forward to the W902's launch. I gotta say I've not been in such anticipation of any of the SE phones in a long time.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
