I'm a little disappointed with my SE phones. Perhaps I'm just unlucky, but two phones acting up in two days in a row is a bit much for me considering that my previous phones have never done that in their years of service. My K750 and W810 were great, but my K770 fell below my expectations, and so did my Z770. In fact, I've only just sent in the latter for servicing today. It hanged while I was using it, and subsequent efforts to restart it were futile. It kept displaying "Simcard error" even though I'd wiped the contacts and ensured the simcard was properly inserted. The technician told me it could be due to a defective simcard slot. As for the K770, it'll be going in to the service centre once I get my Z770 back. Sometimes the phone does not respond to keypresses when texting, and just yesterday night, it hung immediately after I turned it on and I had to remove the battery. Looking back at the times when I was still using my K750 and W810, I feel rather disappointed that this is happening now. I've got a good mind to sell the both of them and get a W810 if I can still find it at any of the reputable stores here. |

Sorry to hear you're having a bad run. Let's hope the service centre can sort it out. Service centres in NZ are going downhill fast with the V640i appearing to be a sealed unit and my first example eventually getting replaced due to technicians unfimiliar with servicing this model.
I'd say persevere with the newer models, much as I love my V800 I can't do without the HSDPA and A200 of the V640i.

errors, glitches, bugs, and freezing are common on sony ericsson phones, and almost expected.
you were lucky with your k750i and w810, at least

Maybe 770 is an unlucky number for you. I wouldn't have been surprised if you said the Z770 hangs due to it being an A200 phone. My W910i hangs all the time, especially while writing texts, which is infuriating when I'm writing up to 100 texts per day! But saying the K770i hangs seems a bit weird because the older A100 platform it uses didn't seem to have that problem.

I agree, my W800 used to restart after recieving music via Bluetooth or from a PC, when i tried to play the music it would restart. My W900 used to restart after playing music for long periods of time, W880 turns off randomly, And now my K850 seems to be fine, i had one restart yesterday when trying to boot the camera whilest it was running a couple of apps in the background.

I was composing a reply on my K770 and I was barely halfway through my rant when it restarted by itself. I'm not gonna bother trying to remember what I was about to post. I'm really disappointed with my phone now. I think I'll go get myself an E51. I should have done that when I was considering between it and this problematic K770. Perhaps I'll be happier using it, and it would have left me with a better last impression of SE phones. Being able to sync my stuff with MyPhoneExplorer and also edit "My words" were the main reasons I was reluctant to switch brands. If anyone can suggest similar solutions with a Nokia, I'm getting the E51 for sure. |

You're right of course. And when I really think about it, I know deep down inside that I'd still prefer to have an SE if they had a decent phone. We'll see how it goes, I'll post here if I get a new phone. |

I'd almost have to agree. My last two phones (k660i and C902) are resetting constantly. Let alone the repeating alarm feature does not work after the first day on both of them. Another issue is I'll get voice mails as the phone will never ring occasionally for some reason. It's like I never got the call in the first place. That could be a server issue, but I've noticed issues on both recent models having had only a few on other SE models. |

my later a100 phones and k850i do that all the time. But my pops blackberry dosent neither does his iphone could be a bug se's platforms. But then again sumthing tells me its most likely a network issue.

Well my A200 V640i doesn't reset itself at all. It is very reliable and stable.
I have had problems with the Modem function when connected to my laptop via BT, but this is nothing compared to the MAJOR issues I've had with my Huawei HSDPA USB modem (known as a Vodem in NZ). I've had firmware issues with the Vodem, clashes with freeware, and finally hardware issues forced me to ditch it for my V800 then the V640i both of which connect fast and easily.
I have no doubts SE are the best to own even if they're not perfect.
