LadFromWales,
Go to Settings\Locks\Auto Keylock and switch it off if you don't want the keypad locking by itself. I find it irritating too.

the features on this phone are simply amazing! they ar reliable, the battery lasts long enough and the price is very competitive! And the guy saying t68 was crap 4 a year is right.U all KNOW that still to this date, the t68 is slow, slow, slow, the sms imput sucks and even the moving between the menus is hard.so, i"d choose this siemens:) |

Siemens are respectable and the S55 appears to be good BUT it is very similar to the T68 after one year! Too late!

It is, most certainly, much smaller and it can cover the requirements of 99 percent of mobile users! The rest will have to buy a P800!

I am still using a T68i and love it still.. even well over a years using it - starting with the T68m in gold, now a T68i. I dont care if its slow, its fast enough for what I use it for and serves its purposes.
I also have a siemens phone.... UNFORTUNATELY...its a C45 now - luckily its a company phone. This is the 2nd siemens phone ive had and I hate this too. The menus are really cr@p to navigate thru, the buttons are not very responsive - you need to press them down hard - Ive noticed this on 2 different model siemens phones. And personally I think its ugly too... although this one C45 looks better than the old one that i had which was ugly beyond ugly!! poor thing.
Well.. either you like it or you dont... those who like it and think its better than a T68i, so be it.. good luck to you guys!
My next phone.... Nokia 3650.. Mmm now thats one s3xy phone!! Its got everything I need it to do incl Bluetooth which I use often with my PDA and works brilliantly with the T68i. oh and i WONT be getting rid of my gorgeous T68i either...keeping that one!!

I had a Siemens ME45 for a short while. I didn't like the menus at all. The fact that sometimes the yes alternative was on the left button and sometimes on the right button, just drove me crazy. Also when using the wap-browser the controls where not very good either.
But AFAIK the S55 has a new menu system, similair to the T68 so it might be better. But on the other hand I wouldn't change my T68 for a phone with almost the exact same features.
BTW I'm very happy with my T68. One thing that makes it soo great is all thoose small extra "undocumented" features.
The T68 is not slow, at least not with the latest softwares (>R5x). I tried a Nokia 7210 fo a while and it wasn't faster than my T68. Actually it was slower... especially when using Wap. |

hey Rolud!
i must say that siemens it's a bunch of crap , wanna know why?
ok siemens makes not just phones, makes everything, so it is logical that they dont pay much atenttion at making them, the software has bugs, etc.Sony Ericsson (Ericsson by itself was a crap) makes only phones, sony bought the phone manufacturer part of ericsson (ercsson makes networks now) so i can asure u that a SE will be better than a siemens, cuz they ONLY work at that, your phone was not a SE was ERICSSON so instead of buying a s55 buy a t68i (SONY ERICSSON) there is a big difference between a ericsson t68 and a sony ericsson t68i, for u that dont know, all the internal hardware is different , i work for SE and believe me a siemens doesnt get any close to a t68i, SE has the best standards in this industry, i mean crapy nokias dont have a antena they have does plastic stickers that supose to "improve signal" u dont know a thing about the phone industry, t68 was made for business man, t68i was tried for teens, but cuz of the plataform it couldnt have poly tones, cuz business man care nothing about poly tones, thats why se launched t300 a cheap poly and mophun (lighter and better games than jav) phone to go with teens, want that get a t300, o for the people that dont know t300 faceplate is made of the p800 faceplate residue!
