The problem with the fastport is that it adds bulk to the device plus itīs just bad quality. Almost every one have problems with the thing not connecting right, getting loose with time, stop working all of sudden and so on. Designing a single port to do the all the job and them building it with cheap materials is a shame for a company that charges what does for their phones. Itīs ok to charge high prices if you have a premium product but overpricing a product with cheap materials (and usually also outdated hardware) is just a shame. |

The fastport seems to be designed with the concept of 'one plug for all' in mind, which is nice in itself, but the implementation is still not perfect yet.
They CAN do that on their new SE phones the "all-in-one plug" just like on the Ipod Shuffle, which has a 3,mm jacket for the headset + PC!
@HxH;
Well, I did that! And guess what?
They stopped working, bought 4 new ones!! I've got bluetooth headsets right now..much better (except for the battery life) !

Even if you follow exactly what the manual says it doesnīt change the fact that the material used sucks and doesnīt last long. Itīs no wonder pretty much everybody has problems with the damn port. |

Your supposition is wrong. And my answer is...yes. They have to be cleaned often to work correct.

I don't have problem with it. So that's wrong too.
The solution - if you want to have problems, you have them

A bit out of topic but pics of Hikaru (which supposedly has a 3.5mm jack) that has swarmed the net looks a lot like an existing WALKMAN Touch device by SONY (not ). Some closet creativity perhaps? |

Personally I find that using 3.5mm jack on a phone a cheap thing. And these jacks are more likely to break (the soldered parts breaking from the board) |

Summing the situation I had pretty the same number of problems with fast port and jack, but those with fastport "were self-repairable" while the others were just "imprecations"... So I like fastport, except for the bulk that creates with headphones... |
