Or they could just seal it off better. They told me there is a gasket inside, i thing between the loudspeaker grill and the camera. Byt some said that the dust enters via the lens protection window itself. And i dont think it would be a hard thing to seal it off better. I HATE when my phone doesn't function perfectly but i'll give SE a chance on this one, you know- benefit of the doubt and all that. (i also have a problem witg cracked sound in some calls but it's not a big problem. I might get it fixed)
Anyhuu if the get their shit toghter on this one(and i hope they do) we'll have a wonderfull phone. And it is that already

Well I have ordered a Krusell case just incase this turns out to be a design issue and not a quality problem.
What with the dust causing joystick problems and now this, problems like this should be sorted by now. I must remember to take the vacuum cleaner to my coat pockets too.

Wich one are you ordering? I have concluded that the best one is that one with plastic soft front and a leather hatch on the back. They have it on their website but no store got them here yet...grr it's a swedish manufacturer but hte don't have it in Sweden. |

Maybe it's fleas we have in our camera housings since they seem to be wondering around? I think, as somebody said earlier here, that the dust cmoes in through the edge of the actuall lens window if you know what i mean. Hope SE instructs SE:repair centres how to fix it more permanently!

I've just made the gutsy move of swapping my K850 for the LG Viewty (KU990), se just lost a very loyal customer! I can't risk getting another handset and having the same problem, haven't got the time to sort out another replacement if it were to happen again nor can I be bothered for the hassle! |

Sobo: I'm getting the phone tomorrow so I shall let you know then. I had a play around with the LG yesterday at CPW and it seemed very good but obviously wasn't able to put the pics on the computer and compare. It will take a lot of getting used to though as I'm so used to candybar sony ericssons and this is a touch screen lg interface. |

I went and fixed mine at the service centre last week. So there is no problems getting in fixed-warranty issue. I hope they did something additional with it so there wont be any more dust. If not SE has to come out with some solution and instruct the SE service centres how to fix i permanently.
where is the service centre and how do you find one in your area? i am in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Well i live in Sweden so i don't thin you want to know where my service centre is. Go SE:s web site and look under "support" Mybe here:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/s[....]er=4000&template=ph1_2&zone=ph
Give them a call and ask where the nearest service centre is

on my 4th handset and as i write this there are 6 dust specs sitting nicely on the camare glass cover. and as im still in my 28 day period it looks like god willing im off to thje cpw to change for another handset. id rather change to another phone but nothing else out at present takes my fancy.
its been 23 days since the original purchase, does anyone know whether cpw will give me a refund or some kind of voucher/credit note to be used at a later date? |

I was annoyed by dust just piling up under the glass cover. At first I thought "easy come, easy go" but nooo.
I discovered that its just a glass circle that is sticked in the cover and its not hard to remove it. Thats what I did, removed it, cleaned (wooohhh... that was hard) and put back.
I don't reccommend you try to do that because I sure wont do that again.
When they were sticking it to the cover I wonder why didn't they seal it any better. |
