Hello
I have a different problem. The black sticker with P1i written on it, situated between the keyboard and the screen unglued itself. Can you find this sticker for sale somewhere ?
Thanks |

I've been using mine for 3-4 hours/day every single day for the past 12-odd months and am still on my original stylus. Guess I was lucky?

I broke mine ages ago... luckily you get two. Replacements are silly price!

I had a similar experience today morning. My touch stick had snapped a few weeks back and I had glued it togerther with superglue. This morning, while trying to pull out the touch stick, it snapped leaving the larger part inside. It was not possible to pull it out using a needle or following other suggestions mentioned. After a little effort, I was able to retrieve the broken end from inside the phone and I'm happy to share how:
Worried by the prospects of wasting time carrying the phone in to the repair centre or spending a lot of money to resolve the issue, I finally picked up the courage to open the phone and examine it from the inside. I could see the touch stick on the inside. However, it was going to take a little work to pry the touch stick out. There are two tiny silver screws at the bottom part of the phone (visible when the back cover is removed). Use an appropriate precision screwdriver (the ones used for opening cameras or electronic products) and remove the right side screw. Gently move the the right side plastic flap to the side (careful, too much and the flap could snap and you'll have an even bigger problem on your hands) and you'll be able to see the stuck part of the touch stick, particularly the end. Using a needle, you can push this broken part out. Replace the screw and cover and voila, your problem is solved.
Luckily, the phone came with two touch sticks and I was able to replace the touch stick. Rather than supergluing the broken one again and using it, I'll put it aside for an emergency and use a new one.
Good luck! |

i didn't quite understand why the P1i stylus is so intrically assembled, with those tiny screw-in plastic bits that go inside the plastic tube. it makes it very fraqile and -which is worse- makes me fiddle with it all the time
the tube is not shallow either, so it's not like you could hide something inside [or use it as pen, like in some other styluses - practical!]
well, i ordered cheap replacements from asia already, they tend to be a bit rough die-casts but practically worke just fine. |

I believe only the OE styli screw together. The Chinese ones I got off eBay are pressed together, so it might take more for them to come apart (although I did have one break on me already, but nothing some super glue didn't fix). |
