Hi. I have an experience which I thought I should share with the rest of you folks. The P1i stylus has the black tip which actually is screwed on to the silver stem. This over a period of time kind of gets unscrewed and has the potential to fall off. If any of you is experiencing a different "thwunk" sound when you insert your stylus and it does not "settle in" properly - then recheck. For some time I thought I had a flexible stylus tip and thought Sony took into consideration ergonomics. I had mine falling off.

Hey guys, if you think the P1i stylus is bad wait till you see/feel the W960i stylus!! not the best to be honest and easy to break, however mine is a prototype, hope it changes when released

My P1i stylus broke a few days ago; never had a problem like this with P900, P910i and P990i

Not had a problem with my stylus in the month i've been using my P1i. Wouldn't mind one of those telescopic ones though. Used to have one back when I had my P900 but can find them anymore.

Yea this happened with mine. Had to screw it back in and it's fine now... but I'm always careful to try not to put too much stress on it. At least they gave us another extra in the box...

(Touches wood before typing)...I thought the stylus had solid build. What do you guys do with yours? I only use it to touch the screen on my P1i.

LOL

Completely off topic, but indeed the W960i might as well have been a coffee stirrer in a former life !!

???
all devices i have owned, except for my first palm, had screw-on stylus tips.
and not one of those has ever come loose.

windows mobile? what the heck does that have to do with you not being able to use a stylus properly? must be a symbian fault, those damn screw-off tips!

Two people in this thread have SNAPPED their P1i stylus??? I presume you both need a new screen too after ramming your stylus through it with a hammer?

Talk about the power of suggestion.

After reading this thread a few days ago, I thought of reacting to dispute the claims of the posters re the quality of the phone's stylus. I thought it was solidly built...

until I broke mine last night.

My P1i fell off my pocket and the upper portion of the stylus broke off from the unit. Good thing I was able to dislodge the remaining part of the stylus from its place and hopefully, I can still glue the pieces together.

For now, I'll just have to use my finger and pretend that I'm using an iPhone. Bummer.

If the phone's still alive after falling down, then it's rather good phone - stylus is not a big deal after all
