im actually not wanting to watch the vids, read the stuff on the iphone, i just dont like Apple. never have, never will. not sure why. guess its because of the ipod, everyone has one, i dont like to 'follow the crowd' usually with certain things.
you have showed quite a bit of interest in it, going by the threads/post you have made about it, thought you might want one.
ooo btw, i do know its in america only, i only typed 'they are only american' though to fit it into my sentence about its phone market.

I think the attractiveness of this would multiply if it had 3G / HSDPA.
With so much processing power and great graphics its creaky old EDGE connection to the internet lets it down.
One review said Yahoo!'s home page took 2 minutes to load which is pretty horrendous. Its strange that the US version isn't 3G, there is nothing wrong with having 3G capability embedded for future use as no doubt 3G will appear in the not to distant future.

If you're not going to watch the videos, or read the reviews, and aren't even interested in the iPhone, why are you reading and posting in this thread? Even if you won't admit it you must have a passing interest, otherwise you wouldn't waste your time here.
This thread is about reviews of the iPhone so you can't really comment if you haven't viewed them!
Maybe if you spent a few minutes actually learning something about other companies products your blinkered views (based purely on the company, not the actual products merits) might change. You may also find out there's a good reason why a particular companies products become so popular, and generate so much interest.

im not wanting to read them, but i did. the iphone doesnt interest me, but if im not going to buy it, i can only view it online then cant i until some one i know gets one? so, i come look here briefly, that ok with you.
oh btw, ive used an ipod PLENTY (and other apple products) of times, doesnt tickle my fancy... its not just because every one has one. of course they are other reasons  . i wont go into that though. are my views still blinkered even though ive tried the companies products?

The only place I'm really willing to read a review of iphone is on mobileburn.com as for those newsparer reviews or whatever i'll pass. I did get gizmodo's crunch down of the reviews and I'm not sure if its much more than hype. Mobileburn though gets access to phones from everywhere and probably won't be as wowed with the specs.
The funny thing is Apple goes with established big names which I don't 100% trust but overlook a place like mobileburn which I think is very much respected in the realms of cyberspace, and I'd think more objective. But then most of their sales aren't really going to be based on geeks reading reviews and recomending it but just hype and fancy advertising. Just my 2p.

I won't be replacing my phone with this version of the iPhone. The biggest reason being that I have 12Gigs of music that I like to carry around, so it isn't big enough. That being said though, I think a lot of the iPhone haters are missing the point.
First of all, the fact that other phones have much of the same functionality really means very little. As one of the reviews says, his old phone was able to recieve mail but he couldn't figure out how. But it was simple on the iPhone. That is the ticket here. This phone will make the world of smartphones accessible to people who don't have logins to HoFo and probably never ventured very far into their old phone's menus. In a year your completely non-technical aunt will be doing things on her phone that you were bragging about doing here a year ago.
Secondly, OSX is a Unix based system. In no time at all there will be more hacks and apps and custom builds for the iPhone than you can shake a stick at. I would bet that if it physically able to be done on the hardware, you will be able to do it pretty soon.
If reports continue to go well, I may get it for my girlfriend, but I will hold off for myself.
On a side note, I passed by the Soho Apple store in NYC this morning on my way to subway. In front of the store I passed a friendly but unfortunately cracked out neighborhood character waiting in front while news cameras set up. He had an ear to ear grin and told me that he was going to sell his spot in line (5th) to the highest bidder and make a bundle. Good luck Joe!
On another side note - Please don't complain about the price AND compare it to an N95. That phone is quite a bit more expensive than the iPhone.

wots wrong with apple? apple rocks in my opinion, got a mac mini its soo cool, no more windowz or viruses etc etc. but i have to say i won't be gettng this phone, it dont have mms  plus u cant use ur mp3's as ringtones but mac os x is great

@ ace: If it does not say on the nokia website that the N95 has any type of touch screen, then that ebay item is false, advertising.

lemme ask you people something, in all seriousness is the lack of MP3 tones really that big a problem? do you really care what sound your phone makes, all you just wanna do is pick it up when it rings rather than listen to the sound it makes.

To me it is important, why have a phone with mp3 songs when you cannot use one of them mp3 songs as a tone for your mobile? some people like to personalise der mobile phone, with the type of music they like to listen to, and would like to hear it, when der phone will ring, instead of the standard nokia/s.e tones or any other manufacture tones.

most recent report for euro iphone say that Vodafone is in the lead. Read someplace that iphone has NO SIM CARD. I know this is not that unusual in the US. Can Apple go with Vodafone and release a euro iphone with no sim card? |

The iPhone does have a sim card and it is removable via the sim card slot at the top of the phoen, the only thing that is different with the iPhone is that it come with the sim card preinstalled.
and what I've been hearing is that Vodafone is at the moment is the front runner for the european iPhone exclusive.
