the set of 6 comparison shots has N95 pics with the initial firmware which had the red tint and oversharpening of photos by default.

the newer firmware for n95 (11.x) is much better. here are a couple more from each phone, this time outdoors in the daytime, cloudy day. once again, no post-processing, no effects, no applied settings ...just the default shots with equal downsampling by esato:

if someone can show me N95-pics who have better quality then k8xxi, i rest my case.
edit..(bondizi, please use right profile when you take pics with k800. k800 takes way much better then so).
(the tree looks like shit. he he).

show me a N95 pic who for example takes better "evening"-pics then k8xx.

or show me a N95 pic who takes better daylight pics then k8xx.

or show a N95-pic who takes better Macro-pics then k8xx.

until then, im convince that k8xx have better pic-quality.

@bondizi
those are really ugly shots by the K800 and quite beautiful ones by N95. Antichrist, do you have something to say about those pics?
And as for you plankgaton, unless you have a N95 to compare those shots with, your pics prove nothing

face the fact that k800 takes better pictures than n95
n95 still wins in other aspects like gps, screen, bla3x

that's enough guys,please...............
none of these two cameraphones is the absolute winner, some K800 shots are better than N95's,while other N95's are better than K800's.....

so lets not continue this pointless issue anymore...

cant really agree what you saying. i have not seen one N95-pic who have been better pic-quality then k8xx. (except for the messed up tree-pic who looks like a k700).

Here's my take. I'm not giving an opinion either way, as I own both phones, and both do the job well. Make of the photos what you will. K800i is in [fine, auto-white balance, flash off] and N95 is in [normal sharpness, auto-white balance, flash off]

K800i

N95

K800i

N95

why dont you just get a life? you choose to believe what ever you want to, K800 loses badly in that pic and you believe its not even a K800, get a life!
even in that last pic (coin one) N95 absolutly destroys the hell out of K800

which means the auto-focus on K800 is questionable to say the least

I generally try not to get involved in debates like this but having looked at the posts I see some K800 pics that are really quite good and some N95 ones that are also pretty good. I would recommend looking at plankgatan's pics in the K800 pics & vids thread for a true representation of the K800 camera.

Anyway, the reason I am posting is to ask why people aren't using imageshack or something to host these shots? I'd like to see some of these comparison shots at full size. The K800 sometimes has bad blurring around certain edges and the N95 has sharpness consistency issues which can be masked a little when resized by esato!

I think you have drawn wrong conclution here. If we assume both phones have "perfect" AF and properly sized sensors, the 5 Mpx one will provide more details and hence produce pics that are perceived as sharper. In this respect it can be difficult to compare a 3 MPX camera with a 5 MPX one and draw the conclution the AF of the 3 MPX camera is bad because the 5 MPX pictures appear sharper.

k8xx takes better pics then so. (i can show you many macro/landscape/portrait/night-pics who is "much" better).

just learn how to take photos with your k8xx (profiles/options/whitness, etc), when you have done that, you get "much" better quality then this. (and of course better then N95 as well).

when a N95 can take a photo with this sharpness & colors. (im convinced)
