I agree with you tranee!!!
I already write about W950 and volume... in this page

Till now i dont solve problem i bought DS970 but volume is the same compare to W950+Creative ep 630 (bass is little deeper on ds970)
DS970 have loudest amp. compare to W950 when you play music through the PC-bluetooth-ds970. I see that W950 even have restriction throught a bluetooth..
LCG jukebox have manual EQ and we have to see how it looks (sounds) with it but LCG is not free ...
Im disappointed in this STUPID(not smart) phone how SE build that, but i reflect to sell this crap and going back on my old T610 phone and buy some newest Cowon or other quality mp3 players and solve the problem |

Noone cares about music on their music phone I assume.. They still keep buying se walkman phones and then are coming in the forum and talk about navigator and movie player issues!!??**
God Damn!!**?? You don't have any ears to listen and understand that the SE walkman series is an overestimated, too much noise to make about, production line of mediocre mp3 players...????? |

I have the P990i and the low volume drives me insane. I contacted support and explained the problem in great detail. They told me to turn up the volume on my handset, then told me I had a faulty phone.
I am so sick of this shit. I had a P910i and the sound was amazing. The P990i is about 60% of the volume and it's just not good enough.
Even with MP3s at 99db and megabass setting and LCG EQ on top of it there is still not enough.
SE are nice useless. If I had the money I would get the N91 8Gb, but I need to sell this piece of shit first. I hope SE rot in hell.
I have had smartphones since the Nokia 9110, 9210, P800, P910 and support treat me like a f***ing idiot.
Nuff said. You ain't the only pissed off person!

Same OS and pretty much same software. Just because it's a "music" phone makes no difference. SE have lost the plot. There is obviously no testing regime because if there was these oversights would be picked up.
There are also various other posts about W950i low volume. All 3 of the UIQ3 phones suffer from this.
Put the f**ker on ebay and get a N91 8gb.

Bought a Sennheiser PMX 60 for my PSP. I've got much louder volumes and better music player design with it, for half of the price of a w950. |

about the W950i : not pathetic, but cannot match N91.Though I bought a W950i AFTER I had N91(it was a birthday present, wouldn't give money for such a brick) because it has other pluses.See here:

Thats my opinion, you may throw an eye on the other pages of the thread, too,I think you'll find something interesting. And about headphones - well, good point about Sennheisers, but I personally don't like the models you've posted.Search for the PX100(or PMX100,the neckband version),they are the best Senns for the street.I'm pretty delighted by them, very good and loud. But there are another pair of headphones which are better than the Senns PX100 and best street phones from all which are on the market - the good old Koss Portapro,my favourite ones. They are 60 Ohms and deliver the loudest sound from every source, unmatched bass and very clear mids and highs.Look at them, they are worth buying more than any other pair, even have LIFETIME WARRANTY *NO QUESTIONS ASKED*.30-50$,bang for the buck.

icaka, thanks for the suggestions, I just googled them and found out that the headphones you are suggesting they are way to big for my taste espec. the portapro..
read your other post and I'm glad to talk with a guy having such a high standard in music listening..
Everyone has it's own music likings, I'm listening mainly to prog. metal and I don't care that much about the quality loss in mp3 converting as much as power, volume and punching bass freqs.. Ofcourse you might say that earphones don't deliver the strongest bass (bass is a matter of size) but always you can find a pair of small earphones that do your job..
Now about the N91.. It's a brick but if you want music power and quality on a phone (no missed calls, no 2 devices in your pocket etc) I can't find something better for the moment.. Also it's size problem can be sortened out with the use of a A2DP headset.. I personally do my work out in the gym by wearing only a pair of those and just leaving the N91 in my small bag somewhere near.. |

I just got another P910i on ebay for £60. The P990i has been sold and I am the happiest man alive. My music is so loud I have to turn it down 3 notches or my ears will bleed.
SE have made a complete bollocks of the P990i. Apart from the decent camera and wifi, the P990i is a backward step, and getting the older model is definitely better for me.
Just away to blow my ears off listening to the pussycat dolls .......

This sounds really strange to me, since I got a W950i on Vodafone, with the following details a couple of months back:
Phone: R9DA001
CDA: /18 R1A12
I cant even get past 60% volume, and thats at the point where you know its gonna damage your ears if you go any louder. This is using the stock earphones you get with the handset, and this is pretty much the case with all mp3's and other audio files ive played, with a small variation due to individual file encoding settings.
Just seems really weird that there're so many people complaining when I and a couple of other people ive talked to find it more than enough.. unless we all have super-hearing |

There seems to be something strange with that particular Vodafone CDA, a few people have reported it is very loud. All other W50i and P990i CDA's are exrtremely low due to some programming f**kup by SE. I would never recommend a Voda branded headset, but in this case it seems to be an improvement LOL |

That's very strange indeed!
First I thought that some people's hearing must be very sensitive when the sound source gets in the ear, but that's a good point you mentioned about Voda CDA.. Only someone like SEUnlock or a guy who has the op of changing CDAs in a single mobile would tell..
But in both cases SE is out of point!
Why you are giving to the mass market a phone that can be enjoyed only by a group of people with super hearing (eg: superman, spiderman and some others.. and in the other hand why you are giving vodafone such a strong selling point that is not advertised at the same time.. |

Well, one week back on the P910i and it's excellent. Power MP3 is stonkingly good and there's more than enough volume with the Sennheiser buds for a tenner.
I'm so happy. 435 songs on my 2gb duo and it's brilliant. May the very poor UIQ3 handsets rot in hell |

Does P910 has a 3.5mm headphone jack? |
