@bobafett
Kinda like that I suppose. I'm not sure what is possible to do with the code used on the board.
But if the report abuse system was available only for members I doubt it would be abused. It would just make it easier for reporting suspect posts and threads. And if anyone is abusing it, a moderator can give a word to whoever is doing it.

uumm... if masseur knew the joke all along... he couldv stop the thread from growing... well it reached a couple of pages more....
so what the heck do we need a new mod for? all i can see is that... it was a misplaced thread... it was a good joke to crack for the holidays... as we can see rumors spreading here and there... which is actually a lot less half of the truth, still we buy the idea of "MAYBE" just maybe theres this light into this dark rumors.
Im not trying to make up for Axxr... tho he's a regular here. the fact is that he has been here more than any of us chattin right now... a lot more like masseur.. i mean the respect is there... will he be stained by the anomaly he just made? well see...
tons of information was contributed to that so-called FAKE thread. yes!!! and YES!!! indeed were making this step because of that thread.. no need to make hanky panky out of it. but can you see other posters tellin and agreeing that it was FAKE. and maybe others are just jumpin in the bandwagon and sayin.. yes i knew it was FAKE.. blah blah blee blee dumm dee dum dum.
and i agree it was not a kewl way to suspend a thirsty SE fan boys.
now i can imagine how Axxr grins while readin the posts... but i tell yah.
Axxr said he's sorry... massuer acknowledges... others knew it all along...
and lets just ask Shaliron what he wanted Axxr to do as a punishment...
hhmmmm... hang em i say!
cmon guys.. lets call it quits... if i were in Shaliron's shoes right now... hhmm i really dont know what to do... but then again.. yea... its a part of it.. its all a part of it... tho the werk of Shaliron.. hhmm well as far as i can see it, wasnt harmed.. or published in a bad way...
who knows... has full of trix up their sleeves... they might just buy this idea and pursue creating one..
WHO KNOWS????
cmon lets all grab a beer and call it a day! |

@rockygali
This isn't about that thread specifically. It's also about the difficult nature of having one moderator for a 24 hour forum. It's impossible to expect that this will be moderated costantly, leaving spammers able to abuse the forum.
One more moderator can't hurt.

i think its fine.... theres no problem with moderation, more with people nit picking at things.... us teh users could do much much more... as masseur has already pointed out - like posting in the right section etc....
one or two extra mods could help but imo its not 'needed'.

I'd love the oportunity, but im probaly still a bit of a newbie here
Would be nice tho, i've been the part time mod of a forum before, until i realised that i would be spending some time on it, and i didn't like the subject the forum it was on.
I really like this forum, and i spend a few hours on here every non-working day.
I'll jusst have to wait untill next time
My votes either scott or fatreg
Good look to whoever the new mod is.

Shaliron talks a lot of sense IMO, I mentioned post reports some time ago, it's ludicrous Esato lacks them.
Over at Mobile-review i oversee 18 moderators in a much less hectic environment than this,
This place certainly does need more moderation staff, and ones that are not afraid to put a few noses out of joint too!!.

people here are saying that Esato needs more moderators and yet I haven't really seen a real serious example case given as to why the current moderator level is insufficient?
there is little happening here that these days needs immediate moderation (we have you all trained very well ) and most things can wait an hour or two in the extreme cases that none of us are around.
certainly most members recognise spam and/or scam these days and esato members are a good bunch in general that don't need to be baby sat!

ok, so u gonna stay with us for next future aswell? seriously masseur, are u ready to stay here and manage esato in the next 10-20-30 whatever years long? cos its up to laffen how long esato will be online and it will aslong his last breath, thats for sure.

thats an irrelevant question. if a moderator decides to leave then that is the time to "replace" them, but thats not what this topic is about, this is about adding more moderators
Esato is an easy going place and though moderators enforce the rules given to them we do it in our individual ways and adding more moderators will only make this more like a police state than a friendly forum.
as I said, there is little that goes on here that requires immediate attention, or attention that can't wait an hour or so

I got your point, but did u recognized any changes, since u are the only active mod compared the times when more was more often online?

I might be the most active moderator but I'm certainly not the only one!

Hm,very diplomatic answer :-) i think we all take u as the etalon and the other mods are "judged" cos they arent that way active, just as u.

H m m m m m . . . I would like suggest to the CEO-laffen, to give: masseur the FULL access with the members PM boxes !
I remember back then when I had some misunderstandings with a member, so I told him to discuss matters via - PM, so we DID. Looks like he cannot handle the HEAT in the CAGE (just bewteen us TWO . . . so he started calling ME names to the EXTENT . . . cursing me, I brought this matter to masseur then to laffen, the latter manages to SEE my INBOX and my opponent's, there laffen SAW who started first . . .and was BANNED after another ONE transpired recently with an OLDIE here . . . got a lunatic-attitude that cannot BEAR to stand discussing matters - diplomatically . . . so, again . . . started calling me NAMES which is really hittin' me below-the-belt . . . . laffen cannot be reached at that time (beacuse he was sick I presume) . . . my only last recourse to GET justice was from - masseur (omnipresent) . . . but has NO access with my PM box.
I know that masseur will not be OVER-USING (abuse) that POWER if ever he will be given access to . . .
