No...16 meg for an 1 hr 47 min video!! christ..ain't got a clue what i did to warrant that...just recoding the same film with a higher bitrate for both video and audio...note...on the interface, it went straight through encoding and ghive an output status...so it appeared as if it were finished so to speak...but..if you go to program files/super/output files it still shows as encoding because the file size is getting bigger as i speak...now thats weird.lol

Thats impossible... unless you send me the file in question... how do i know ??
A 240kbps video with 96kbps audio stream will use 24kb/s + 9.6kb/s for every second of video...
so that is 33.6kb/s... so for a 1hr 47min film your talking on:
(33.6 x 60) x 107 = 215.712mb...
So i reckon the film is corrupt... |

i see my little piece of software has reached esato!
it is very alpha at the moment, not a final verson, so there will be bugs!
350/96 bitrates are recommended for the k800i and w900i, you can go to 380/96 but you'll get some stutter on high-motion clips occasionally.
320/128 is a good option for music videos that'll appreciate even better sound quality.
the "avs2wav needs to close" bug is fixed in the next version. Also i'm adding music conversion to mp3, lc-aac, he aac, or he-aacv2 (eAAC+). With tags for album/artist/song/track, of course. |

@mysh its certainly a great app, and soooo easy to use.. however im having some problems installing the Nero AAC codec on my PC, it trys to automatically install it at the beginning but the end result is the vid still having no sound. Ive also tried to install the codec directly from the Nero site, and still with no luck with the sound. Do you think i may have a conflict of some other codecs installed already on my PC
And again, congrats with the app, it really is a masterpiece of work!!

Hey thanks.
Make sure you're using version 0.81a
http://www.vapulus.com/w900i/M3-0.81a.zip
once you get the main interface loaded , have a look in the bin folder, for neroaacenc.exe. If it's not there, try installing it manually.
If neroaacenc is there, you might have some exotic sound codec for your video file. Add the video to the file list, then go the information tab, and click the file in the file list, it'll show some info about it. Go into the temp folder, and copy the contents of mediainfo.txt to a post here, so i can see what kind of audio your file has. |

excellent ... i'll go over that again when i get home and if it still isnt working i'll copy over the info in txt file for you to see....
I did have a look at the thread posted above on Howard Forums and installed the latest version.
Cant wait to get this working properly, as i was trying loads of different settings with Mpegable, and the vids still came out with annoying pixels here and there
cheers

Hey cheers for the debug.txt.
I'm not too sure what's going on with that, it seems to only encode < 1 second of your audio. It's mp3 audio on the source file, so it shouldn't be a problem. I expect it's one of two things...
you're low on disk space and the audio doesn't get extracted fully. But that seems unlikely.
the other is a broken mp3 codec on your system, try installing ffdshow...
http://cutka.szm.sk/files/ffdshow-20051129.exe
that should make any file work fine. |

@mysh
thanks for that link there, thats sorted it out. I already had an old version of ffdshow installed so i uninstalled it and installed the new one. Now i have sound!!
I did notice a bit of a sound lag (on the simpsons!!) but not sure whether its the source file. Gonna try it again later and see if its just that episode
cheers

Cool, glad it fixed it for you. I'm bundling ffdshow with M3 in future, transparently.
The sound lag is a bug, fixed in the new version out later today.
Not exactly my fault mind you, it's a problem with edited avi files. Most TV-rip shows are ripped in the US, and they have to remove the ad breaks. You'll find the sound lags after the first ad break is cut out, and it lags even more for every ad break removed. Something gets mangled in the avi file if it's not done properly. It doesn't show up in Windows Media Player, but the frameserver i'm using is more strict. Anyhow, i found a workaround, and it's fixed.
