First of all it would be nice for us to share our thoughts and ideas on the best video conversion settings in your opinion/other for the K800/790, to get the best quality and most fluent videos we can. A question that I personally am dying to know.
Also of course we can share videos, tips, ideas and clips etc!
(Please also refrain from posting videos that will or may breach copy right laws, otherwise the thread will have to be shut down, though I don't see anything wrong in small clips, other videos, trailers etc. Just be careful!)
Thanks and enjoy!

Hey we saw it can take more than that
400k for video and 128k for audio should give good audio and video.

Those bitrates were too high for me (MP4). I'm trying 350/64 MP4 with ImTOO now.

i'm using Super 8 and the best results i've had is 336kbps (240x320 30fps) mp4 with aac @ 128. smooth video and great sound.
I also just tried 384kbps but it stuttered in parts. |

350/96 MP4 worked for me (ImTOO), don't want any lower video bitrate than that. Maybe I'm gonna try 350/128 but that will probably be too high.
edit: Tried with 350/128 now and it looked okay and in sync after 4 minutes! One little flaw though: Sometimes it appears large blocks in black or white for a sec or so in the picture. I don't see those blocks when playing the same file in QT. Any ideas about what causes that?
bobby_hill: I think the video limit is somewhere around 350, 384 stuttered for me too.

sahran: both work without problems. What's the bitrate for audio and video on them?

Thanks for this thread. 400 bitrate for video certainly doesn't really work for me. 350 leads to some synch problems, but probably I can live with that, so I'm sticking with 350 video, 32x2 audio.
I was using Recode CE, but the codec expired. I've downloaded the trial of Nero 7, and Recode is different. If I choose Memory stick video (PSP), I can only get the audio at 24k. What are other people using? I'm trying iPod video, and it seems OK. My crop settings also don't seem to be quite right, as I'm ending up with some black bars top and bottom.
Also, I read on HowardForums that you can playlist video, but I'm not having any joy with that on the K800. Anyone managed it? It would help a lot for long videos.
Cheers
Tom

Does FPS make any difference?
Can I use the "proper" rate of 25 or 30FPS, or do I need to drop it to 15FPS? |
