I really don't know TBH. I thought about it and the W850 has named in the series which is Walkman and I just assumed that the K series would know become the Cybershot series. It would be kinda confusing having both sliders in the K series, but on the contrary it would also be confusing if Cybershots were put in the S series, M series AND K series. They might make a new series, maybe, but I really don't know cos the K series is meant to be the flagship series, K700 K750 K800.

Noo.. cause:
W800 = Candybar
W850 = Slider
W900 = Swiffle
W950 = Candybar
So...don`t think SE wil mix numbers/ lettres

@shaliron.
J*** and T*** are low end models. S***was for the swivelers.
K*** is/was mid range candybar.
applied to any of the above which was denoted by a W*** prefix.
Does that mean all K*** from now now on will be Cybershot? Including sliders and clamshells?
I think I would prefer a new prefix for a slider, its a different form-factor afterall. |

what letter can they use for Slider? S is already taken by Swivel phones, what, are they going to use TWO letters? SL850. xD sounds like a Benz to me. |

Well, they could go with either:
C series, for the Cybershot series. I doubt it though cos that kinda sounds cheap. Moto's C series is their low end ones.
Back to the S series and just convert that into the Slider series. There was only one proper swivel that came out of that series anyway, the S700. The S600 was cancelled.
Just make a new one like L or D.
Or to just stick with the K series.

If more sliders appear in the future, then candybars and sliders being both called 'K' would confuse things.
What do you think?

D's already taken, don't know what it stands for though, it's the un-Walkmanified W800. |

Yeah forgot about that. I don't think that they want to clash with other brands as well. So there goes N, D, C, U and X.

they still have a lot of choices. i mean, there ARE 26 letters of the alphabet. only a fraction has been taken. |

I think they get 90% of the stuff right every time.
Excellent battery lifes, excelent connectivity, still images ect....
The one thing they need to improve on is the video capture. They need at least CIF in there next phone. VGA would be nice thoigh.
When do you all think pictures will start to leak for the next k phone.
When did the k800 pics begin to filter through ? |

Dubai hosts the 11th Annual GSM>3G Middle East and Gulf event
This is a good window for us to expect the release of any more new handsets. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

Sure hope so as well. These rumours have been floating around for too long, at least for my curiosity's sake.
