Thought I would post this info.
Cyber-shot handsets to boost Sony Ericsson’s market share worldwide
Daniel Shen, Taipei; Steve Shen, DigiTimes.com [Thursday 2 March 2006]
The planned launch of Cyber-shot handsets by Sony Ericsson starting in the second quarter of this year will further enhance the company’s market position in the camera handset segment and boost its market share worldwide, according to Steve Yeh, president of Sony Ericsson Taiwan.
Cyber-shot handsets will come with strong imaging technology since Sony has licensed its related Cyber-shot technologies, including camera modules, software and interfaces, to Sony Ericsson, in addition to the Cyber-shot brand name, Yeh said.
With global sales of Walkman handsets having already reached three million units, the Cyber-shot handsets are expected to be able to continue that momentum and contribute greatly to Sony Ericsson’s revenues in 2006, Yeh stated.
For the Taiwan market, Yeh expects the company’s market share by unit sales for all of 2006 will top at a comfortable double-digit level by year-end, up from close to 10% in January.
It looks like there will be a few more advance camera-phones from this year with the cyber-shot brand being taken full advantage of.

I sounds to me like the brand will be applied to more than just 2 models. The Walkman brand has been applied to many handsets now. I expect Cyber-shot will applied in the same way
I read that are collaborating with Sharp in developing hardware for there handsets, which should mean some great imaging phones on the way. |

On the serious side of things, just wondering.
Since SE are collaborating with Sharp, why don't they use their 3.2MP module with 2x optical zoom as seen in the Sharp 903, polish it up a bit (my 903 has a horrible night mode!) and stuff it in a "Cyber-shot?"
I bet it'd be very good, and if nothing else, they'd beat Nokia to the Please-No-More-Jap-Technology-So-Advanced-It's-Inhuman optical zoom party.
As it is, Sony urgently need to find out how N. managed to fool around with their wife, Carl(a?) Zeiss, under their nose. This dream of a Zeiss lens in any SE Cyber-shot phone has turned into a very bad nightmare... |

I seriously doubt that SE will use Sharp camera hardware when one of its owners (Sony) have a huge camera division and with SE calling their camera phones Cybershot, a Sony trademark, they cant really use camera hardware from someone else.

Seems unlikely according to some respected sources.
S700, then W900.
Is it really too much to imagine a swivel version of the K800i? The bigger form factor could be used to accomodate even more cool stuff.
