If you want to watch video then ditch the Ipod and get a PSP with a 4Gig duo card. Still enough room for 4 films and music and a huge lush screen the Ipod can only dream of but of course you'll need a huge battery for long flights but at least you can change the battery in a PSP.
Or wait till a proper Video Ipod caomes out which will be soon. I think using one device for everything is cool though as you only need to carry one item around with you. If you can live without the camara then the W950I would be my choice next to a K800I for the camara. |

20gb ipod or 60gb ipod?
I don't have enough music for a 20gb anyway so thats neither here or there as far as I'm concerned.
Even if they had 1000GB all you can ever do with them is watch video and listen to music. Boring.
Why bother? When I can do the same and communcate with my mates without having to mess around swapping devices.
Ipod = music and video
W900i = music and video, instant messaging, picture messaging, internet etc etc etc.
Hours more fun! |

Some of us prefer to listen to music then play games, instant message, picture message...get the point?
For me a 60GB iPOD isn't big enough as my iTunes library is over 80GB and I still have quite a few CDs to rip yet! |

@mephisto
Well if I wanted to listen to music and not be disturbed and THEN play games, text message I go to 'music only' mode OR choose the 'accept calls from noone' option.

I've allways wondered why anyone needs to allways carry their entire 20-40-60 or 80gb musiclibrary with them ? To me its nothing but the same old childish "mine is bigger than yours" symptom.
Its enough files to play continuesly for years without repeating a single track. But whats the point in that ?
At some time, battery needs to be recharged anyways, one can allways update the library one carrys around.
Even when people have that many GB's of music (I do to) you cant seriously say that everything is part of your top100 list of what you care to listen to at this point in time. So whats the point in carrying around 30.000 extra tracks you dont listen to at the moment. Isnt it enough that you have them digitised and stored on your computer, whats the point in also storing them on a spare 60gb Ipod and carry them around all the time. I dont carry all my word and excellsheets or my entire dvd-collection with me on spare harddrives either.
I only use 1GB in my phone, and even with that limited space I cant seem to find enough tracks I care to listen to at the moment, to fill it up completely, I still have space left. And when Im tired of my rescent top100, Ill just connect the phone for a recharge and update of musicfiles to my latest top100.
Besides that the whole Ipodmania is seriously hyped and overrated that its a laugh.
An endless number of blindtests performed by consumershows in my country shows that by far most people cant hear any difference between a normal mp3 player and an Ipod at twice the cost, and more than 60% actually prefered the cheaper player over the Ipod, or wrongfully indentified the cheaper player as the Ipod, when they didnt know which was which.

@numb Probably
But then I suppose if your pc / laptop crashes for good, then at least you have a spare digitised collection stored. |

Thats true
But doesnt everyone allways backup their important data ?
How does the saying go:
Real men dont do backup - but they cry alot or something like that |

At the end of the day it comes down to what one person likes over another. I have a 5G 60 Gig iPod for many reasons. One is that I have 25 or 30 audiobooks, a bunch of video Podcasts, and some family video on it. One of the more important reasons is because I work as a consultant and travel all over the world. Try dragging a box of CD's with you all over the world and see how much it costs.
Second, no matter what SE calls them, they are still a phone. If your walkman phone takes a dump, there goes your music and video player, and phone, or your ALL IN ONE DEVICE.
The iPod was never designed to compete with a phone but rather to try and offer a decent media experience at a reasonable price. Those here that can not see the difference need to: 1. get out of their mothers basement, 2. try to find a girlfriend and a life, 3. stop spending too much time with their phone.
At the end of the day, it is only a phone that happens to play media.
*edited on a Mac of course. Mac: There is no substitute*
N82(YES), iPhone 3G, Shure es530, Nikon D300, more stuff. No more SE stuff, why am I still here? |

And the iPod happends to be a thing that plays media...
Is not like we are discussing about k800 or k790, one is an all-in-one and the other is a media player, they are two different things. You cant make a point here, there´s a refrigerator that has a tv in the front door...well, not very handy but some people might like it, so...what´s your choice, that fridge or both things separately? Some people will always prefer an iPod just for the fact that is only an iPod, rather than all stuff in one device. |

Plus iPOD's are slim. Its a pain to carry a W800 in tight jeans, let alone a W900! |

why don't you just put them in different pockets? |
