Paid forum? Never heard of one before.
Come on, advertising is what Internet sites benefit from, why pay for a DISCUSSION FORUM? Makes no sense. It's like paying to your girlfriend for a blowjob... lol

@dgilmartin
I live in the capital city Sofia, but was born in a city you probably haven't heard of - Gabrovo.
And as I see one of your interests is football - CSKA Sofia beat Liverpool 0:1 on Anfield stadium about a month ago!!! sorry for off-topic
Bob

cool, I love it over there, My mates and I go over to ski in Pamporovo nearly every year, we are heading over in February, can't wait God its great! The Women, Cheap Drink, Cigarettes and best of all Skiing! We flew into sofia once, but we usually fly to Plovdiv and get a 2-3 hour bus into the mountains.

That's cool man, I also visit Pamporovo two or three times in winter, but as there is a ski resort that is now better, cheaper and closer to Sofia, it's called Bansko, down south in the Pirin Mountain, I now only go to Pamporovo if some friend invites me to a party or something
good choice you've made, though!

hahah, sorry for the off-topic again, please.
It's just great to know that people like my poor (but beautiful) country.
And, yep, the thread was pointless from the very beginning.

One thing that confuses over here is :- everyone has said that this forum is for all - the rich & the poor. I dont see any poor people coming here as most of the guys own cell phones that in themselves are pretty costly. So guess, Esato is out and out a rich man only forum !!!

i have two questions:
1. how would you expect to get new members if they had to pay for access to the forums?
2. how would you accommodate people who are uncomfortable with online financial transactions?

If esato were to be a paid site, then i think that its membership would surely reduce from 70thousand odd to maybe some number in 4 figures.

I don't think Esato would remain the same if it goes pay! We also forget sometimes that "Esato" isn't just the forum, there are ringtones and stuff which are for sale here... I haven't come across any discussion board which is pay...but there are some which charge a nominal amount for some special features...if Esato boards ever decides to go pay, i think it would be that way..

But i think what makes esato esato is the discussion forum. How many guys do actually go through the other stuff?

Many imho. For us, its the forums which are of interest...but there are quite a lot who are just interested in buying stuff for their phones.. Also, some people sign up just to see some of the pictures posted...because the pics posted on esato can only be seen when logged in. I know many people who just lurk here and read knowledgable posts by members here...but rarely post themselves..

Maybe...maybe not...but what it would surely do is significantly improve the quality of the discussion forums.. imo

I agree, Esato is just a forum. It offers things that are user based, and without the users Esato wouldnt be here. Maybe it should start things run by management, people getting themes and creating them like, im sorry i have to mention, se-nse. i know people are getting peed off with me mentioning se-nse but i wish Esato could offer what we could.
