Lastly, we've got Sony Ericsson working on a new slider phone in a hot metal design. The phone is most likely going to be a mid-end phone without lots of features. The design, however, looks really hot and the size isn't some to bark about either.

Can someone please tell me what the sucessor to the P1 will be? I really like its style of keypad and if there is another version of that on the way with perhaps 5MP then i would wait for that.

Some people are saying that the P5i will be a vertical slider with rocker type QWERTY keyboard like the P1i. We will see. |

so now here's my next question. Can someone confirm to me K618 and V630 too is A200? they too having the similar button as per this slider.
Interesting to know this because I thought those phone K618 and V630 is using the previous platform (is it A100?)
how about K220? can I say they are A200 platform too

For me, I rather wait and see and with a 1.3megapixel camera.....i have doubt why need to make it a A200 platform phone. Its such a waste to do so...plus this phone seem not having a 3G camera. |

to c96sthl: Look better on V630 or K618 and also on K220  The K618 has the same keys and layout as the K800, it has nothing to do with A200 platform and the V630 is only vodafone branded, so instead of having web key and action menu key there's the red and green button Still missing there 3 softkeys, action menu, c-key and red/green keys So none of them can be A200 platform based...
K220 is low-end model so I don't know why did you mention this one...
I also think, that according to the keys, this silver slider is A200 platform based.

well K618 missing the back key compare to this slider. Soft key is there.
Yes maybe I am very wrong here but I still not that convince a low to mid range phone which could fall in the family like T270 can get A200 platform since it is such a waste of resources...my wild guess is A200 can be using more expensive chipset...so why waste it if A100 can do the same job....plus A200 from all the posting is indicating it can go for HSDPA/ aGPS/ Wifi etc etc but this phone don't seem to show it....which mean I will only convince I am wrong when there's a picture showing a working UI on this slider since we all know A200 phone have different UI especially for softkey arrangement.
Also, if K618 which use old platform can add the answer reject call button...i dont think why it cannot be use here. Remember also SE also get ODM phone like K220 from other ocmpany which is not using Ericsson platform...all this button thing is just software / MMI interface setup.

so nothing new other that what I already knew about it, except they didn't mention any thing about announcement time...
about your last note, is this mean that site isn't a good source for mobile stuff ? or they just post any thing they recieve !!

K618 - no, it doesn't have call/end buttons.
V630 - yes, it's an A200 phone.
K220 - no, that one of the ultra-low-ends. They use a different platform and that's why it has call/end keys. |
