They should give us an option to SORT photos in the Media Centre. Like when we view photos from File Manager.

@leesanhua:
- Download Sony Ericsson update service from the Sony Ericsson website.
- Install it.
- Open it.
- Do as it says. Remember, we aren't using our phone here.
- Firstly it will search for available updates, then choose your language. After this choose which phone you have. This is all very simple and straightforward.
- After this, instructions will come up on how to connect your phone. You must remove the battery of your phone, and then put it back in. I believe this is to make sure the phone is completely turned off.
- Then, plug the USB cable into the computer (not your phone yet).
- Then, on your phone, hold down the 'C' button, and while still holding the 'C' button down, plug the other end of the USB cable into your phone.
- When the computer tells you to, you may let go of the 'C' key.
- After this, the program will identify your phone and tell you whether any updates are available.
Is there anything more you need to know?

Is anyone else getting the creaking/crackling interference type noise in the media player when you play, pause and adjust the volume? |

Not much change in the camera quality.
New firmware is the lower of the 2 comparisons attached. First comparison is indoor flash.
Outdoor - "tripod" mounted (again, bottom crop is the new firmware):

How do you know that you're not receiving HSDPA? I'm just curious if you have done any speedtests to see what speeds you get with the 3G+GPS option.
I'm just going off the symbols I see on the screen...will do a speedtest later to double check |

You can't really judge unless you do a before and after - and most importantly you don't shrink the picture down. Only a 100% crop is useful. |

On my network handovers between GSM and 3G don't go smooth always. So i could use the function to lock the phone to 3G. Ah, whatever... GSM/3G is anyway under a shortcut.
I have to admit that the names on the menu are very confusing. I'd expected
GSM Only (only enabling GSM radio)
GSM/3G (enabling both radio's, so you can access GSM, UMTS and HSDPA)
3G only (enabling UMTS radio only, so you can access UMTS and HSPDA)
Why they named it HSDPA is a clue to me, maybe they needed a visual conformation that the phone supports HSDPA indeed
More confusing is the fact that
a) Selecting HSDPA doesn't lock it to 3G (as you might want to prevent those awkward changeovers) so it's NOT a typo, where SE meant to say GSM + 3G, GSM or 3G. The phone still changes to GSM, so perhaps this is a bug?
b) As it does say HSDPA, you might expect it to only use HSDPA - but of course it doesn't do that either, and happily uses the normal 3G packet data service.
So, what exactly IS the point of the HSDPA option?
Is it a clever feature I've not understood? Is it perhaps meant to be;
GSM + 3G (No HSDPA)
GSM only
HSDPA (GSM + 3G + HSDPA)
?

Yeah, thats exactly how it appears to work on my phone, I was travelling yesterday and using my phone a lot, had the 'HSDPA' option selected, and it switched between the 3 types without any losses of reception
If it did lock to HSDPA, it would be pretty useless around the north of england as the HSDPA coverage around here is sketchy at best!! [ This Message was edited by: ajwales on 2008-02-22 10:49 ] |
