Wanna know what causes the video playing problem?
It's the processing of both the video stream and audio stream at once. In this firmware, the audio is quite ahead of the video stream, so if you go near the ending of the video, where the sound has run out, you'll notice that the video is running smoothly.
are aware of this problem.
And I'm only posting this, because I'm sick of hearing about video playing problems. All complaining, and no one knows why.

Apparently the new firmware gives you the option of choosing between HSDPA/3G/GSM...

I got 2 options:
- GSM/3G
- GSM ONLY
And yes I am on R1E
@Naamloos and @Terminatorak:
Did you do a master reset/factory reset after updating? Because i had the third HSPDA option in Mobile Networks menu, but was disappeared after reset.
@1889: It is recommended by SE, however now it seems that it can cause problems also. The info is very fresh and very unsure if Master Reset causes troubles, but if you don't experience problems at the moment, maybe it's wise to wait till more information follows.

The video works fine if you encode it at 300kbps @ 15fps but that's unacceptable. If you encode it at 250kbps @ 25fps it'll work fine in portrait but one you switch to landscape and the media players overlay comes on it'll start out of sync but correct itself after about 5 seconds.
Very frustrating for those of us who use our phones for video. |

Well mizzle sorry that we laymen are uninformed. Maybe you should share whatever you know for the sake of SE community instead of acting like a baby, running away and crying every time someone looses faith in you. So where is that face recognition and R3 anyway? |

Well, do not know if anyone got this, but after I updated from 037 to R1E, the phone was SO slow and buggy. No changes at all, except some things, but after total master reset, the differences are noticeable. Well, took some time to start phone from the beginning, probably took like 5-10 mins to boot it after master reset, in first few mins, phone was still laggy and all that sh1t. but now its ok.
so what i noticed new one:
1.when you go to settings-display and try to chosoe wallpaper it shows Application. But how the hell it works?
2. Sound/vibration for touch buttons ( nice! but dont like this function, not fun of it)
3. new icons
4. battery life seems much better, used for few tennis games, around 10 smss, talk for 10-20mins in general, 3-5 songs for 4mins duration and battery still is 91%
5. everything is faster. BUT, i still have problems with contacts, i got around 100 contacts, and to search by typing the letters is taking quite some time (faster but not perfect, on my k750 it was much faster)
6. Gmail java seems faster, but sometimes it takes same time to startup
7.to be continued

@mark187
The main issue with the videos is codecs. Especially the H.264 one.
@Vlad83
Or maybe I should not, the only ones acting like babies will have to be people like the one in your mirror. Regarding the R3 firmware I've mentioned here, that's a general test firmware for K850, W760, W910 and alike. And to be quite frank, I should never have mentioned it here, as most people don't deserve hearing about it.

@EARNEST:
Now i'm getting real confused and curious. Can you confirm you still have the option HSDPA under Menu Settings > Mobile Networks > GSM/3G networks?
Reason why i'm asking is because just some minutes before you post i was recommending NOT to reset the phone, because this leads to at least one disappearing menu, the one i mentioned above. (And i saw i was not the only one)
No one is helped with some users yelling: Don't reset! while others are recommending to do a reset, to improve speed and stability. |
