Also check SEUS (im with Orange) but nothing yet. I like the idea of vibration for the touch keys and the resolved batter life issue of 038/039.
I see people on here saying this is not the BIG update, where can I find more information on this supposed BIG update? |

Mizzle has dropped hints on what he expects to be on the big update. Face recognition for the camera was one thing he mentioned... |

WARNING: MASTER RESET AFTER UPDATE MAY MAKE NEW FIRMWARE OPTIONS UNAVAILABLE.
Earlier today i updated my unbranded K850i from R1CA037 to R1EA031. Everything went well, and i was checking the new options for HSDPA and Vibration on touchkeys. Both were visible in the menu and worked quite well.
To be sure i had a clean, stable release i decided to put a Master Reset. After the reset both new options were disappeared. Vibration didn't work anymore...
Now, after reflashing, the options still aren't back and i'm doubting if i will ever see them back in this firmware release.
Is there anything i can try to get the 'full' R1EA031 back?
Where is the HSDPA menu? Or Do you mean the 3G/GSM selection? |

Apparently the new firmware gives you the option of choosing between HSDPA/3G/GSM...

Updated the first post with R1EA031 fixes and improvements. Any additional fixes found by users should be PMed to me to ensure inclusion in the first post. |

Its in the mobile networks menu under GSM/3G networks, after i had reflashed there was an option for GSM/3G, GSM Only or HSDPA, after i had done a factory reset this option for HSDPA has vanished!!! |

:S I'll have to try it myself when I get my phone. More than one person has confirmed that you can choose whether or not to use HSDPA or not... |

I've been using the new firmware all afternoon, and can say that it is a LOT faster.
HOWEVER, if you're using a Bluetooth headset to listen to music then expect the delays to come back with a vengeance. The phone becomes almost unusable when you're listening to music and want to use the phone for other things.
Video playback is a joke unless you're listening through the internal speaker/wired headset and using the file manager to play - not the media player. It's actually worse than before, as it used to play video okay but the sound was out of sync. Now the sound is closer in sync (it seems) but the video slows down and drops frames all over the place. This is NOT a viable solution!
Clearly the demand on the processor is too much for the media player with wireless headphones (I also use the MBW-150 and so it's communicating with that too). On the plus side, the stuttering you used to get when using headphones and the watch seems to have been fixed.
The fact the video player is bad at all times, yet the old style video player works, suggests they've only optimised the basic user interface. Good as that is, it does mean I can only really use my K850 for music - and even then, only when it's in my pocket and not being used.
Nevertheless, for the other things, the firmware update is amazing!
(One thing I notice now with the vibration for pressing the screen is that it recognises being touched 100% of the time, so when it doesn't respond - it's the user interface freezing up that is the problem. How many handsets went back to networks and dealers because of bad code!!!
