Now, what do i have to do or where do i have to go in order to update my s700i's firmware?
I dont want to debrand or unlock it, i just want to update it (if any).
Second Q, Can any one explain what are the meaning of letters and numbers in the firmware versions?

Try Float's mobile agent http://fma.sourceforge.net/ wich is completely free  You can backup, restore to outlook, to textfile or excel and many more other options. Thanks to opensource community  |

Anyone know when updated will be available for O2 UK?
When I try to update i get the massage:
"Your device is not permitted to use this service
Your operator does not approve the use of this service with this device."

1)when i receive calls or messages from some contacts,their name or photo don't shown,but only their number!2)The phone turns off itself randomly!3)Must have a bigger video resolution on such screen,as S0505iS!If not 320*240,a bigger resolution than 176*144 would be perfect!When will SONY ERICSSON solve this issues with a firmware update?They drive me crazy!!Anyone got any news on a newer firmware?

Hi,
Can I ask those who have R3k if they can get voice dialling to work? I can't. Everytime I try to record a tag, I get "sorry, nothing heard" on the screen.
My phone was a voda uk branded version. I didn't get a chance to test it before I debranded with totalmultiserver. Have tried flashing again using setool comport version but still get the same bug. I have software version R3K004!My voice command feature works well,it don't have a problem!& when i had R3F008 firmware,it also worked well!But i have another problems:when i try to download pictures of Esato forums html light,they don't save in the pictures folder!Also,the phone randomly turns itself off & also,the name & the photo of some contacts in my phone-book don't appear with certain contacts!I tried deleting those contacts & the problem solved!But after that,this problem appeared in other contacts!

Hi Guys, I only had my s700i for a couple of weeks and ive noteced my phone has crashed and re-booted its self afew times, is this a software problem or should i argue for a new phone? |

People who had older firmwares complained about the same thing.
Probably a firmware problem. Just take to an SE service center, explain to them your problem and they'll upgrade your firmware for free.

sorry i forgot to mention i have the latest firware, when i got the phone it had R3B i have a se service centre just down the road so i had it updated now its R3k, I bought the phone online which gave me a 30 day peace of mind (incase i got a branded phone ) but lucky enough i got unbranded and unlocked, ive been intouch with the comapany i bought it from there happy enough to exchange it but cant garantie me another unbranded phone, im ganna call my local service centre soon see what they say as se tend to send back genaric handsets, as i have the latest firmware would you think its a problem with the phone
just called my local se service centre they said if the handset is replaced they will exchange like for like so another unbranded phone
so ive answerd my own question...lol

I think the problem with the rebooting is more related to the MS card used as opposed to a firmware problem. I was having a rebooting problem, and SE gave me a brand new one, and it still reboots. The common denominator is the 128 MS card duo that I am using. Once I switch the card out and used the 32 mb card as well as putting all the files directly on the phone rather than having the phone access them, it no longer crashes.

N82(YES), iPhone 3G, Shure es530, Nikon D300, more stuff. No more SE stuff, why am I still here? |
