The update just finished. It is an improvement, but not as much as you would have expected after such a long time.
It does improve the overall speed of the phone, especially when using the media player. But the phone is still sluggish when the media player is running in the background, only slighly less than the previous FW.
I had 037 before, so im just looking at the improvements over that firmware.
Improvements:
- Phone is faster
- Media Player is alot faster!
- Equalizer bug fixed
- New animations browsing the photo album
- Key Response option
Negative:
- Still not as fast as the K800
- Still sluggish when media player is running in the background.
- DS970/980 bugs still exist
- There are no new icons, no new themes, no new games, no face recognition, whatsoever.

I know nothing about SE strategy, however dont get your hope too high on the new icons, new games and new face regognition.
I personally beleive they will never add them.
The only major upgrade by adding new features was one on the T68m to T68i. |

Can anyone tell me is there a possibility to turn off the vibra on touchbuttons?
Yes, in fact, I had to turn it on in the first place!
It's Settings/Sounds & alerts/Key response/Touch options/[Silent/Click/Tone/Vibration]

Another improvement (sort of) is the introduction of an 'updating' dialogue when you delete a picture in the media player.
Before this, it looked like the phone had crashed OR you could continue to scroll through images and then back to see the image you were deleting - and potentially mess things up by trying to delete it again.
I am not sure why it needs so much time to update though, as it's instant if you use the old-school file manager to view images!!

fullforce Just a small survey- Does anybody else still have the java/operation failed problem after updating?
If so please post here!
Yes,I had. I just cleaned up all debris application like jv$ from java folder on memory card and all came to normal after reboot. The routine procedure...
You should toward yourself to Service for reflushing only in case you cant initiate Magic marble.
So you mean you went in to the java folder and cleaned it by hand? A total reset doesn't do that? I had all my java on my phone memory though. Do you think it might help if i went in and cleanded tha java folder on my phone memory? What name has the file with java apps? |

Well, I just updated my generic UK phone. I backed everything up in PC Sync, and did the updae. Afterwards, the phone started, but got to the SE startup animation and swithed off. "Uh oh," I thought. I started the phone again and all was well. The new software was installed, and I didn't need to restore anything - everthing was there as before; games, apps, text messages, contacts etc. Nice!

1. So basicly you're just dimming the xenon manually? i shouldnt try to trick it into thinking the object is nearby, because it already is.
2. Yes, but the k850 also has a LED light..why not let us enable it like in video mode?
Im sure someone here could code something when we get access to the filesystem
