I am waiting for the release of the k750 ,but I am thinking about the huge screen of the s700
Voila what I want to know is if the new FW give the full-screen video for the s700 or not,and if we can assign mp3 ringtone for sms

Please, someone tell me how to updat my s700. it has the 0046 imei number, so SEUS wont let me update my phone. Will a service center be able to do it for me? |

Guys,could someone of you contact Sony Ericsson customer care center?I can't send them e-mail from my phone(it does not have access to that page of site)& the customer care center in Greece don't know!Please confirm someone that a new firmware will be out!I don't have a pc to send them e-mail!!

Anyway, I will be getting a new s700i as mine was the boot and reboot machine. They said it is a problem with the software, if so, why a new phone. Anyway, I am not complaining. The bottom line is that there should be one more s/w upgrade but they do not know when. I am in Finland and these guys are very good, so I tend to trust them.

Thanks very much for your reply sapporobaby!I have R3K004 software & the nights i plug in the phone at charger to fully charge the battery!But sometimes,in the morning when i sleep & receive a message i wake up from the sound & i can see that phone turns itself off & on again without asking for Pin!It does soft reset!Why is that?I don't lose nothing & works greatly overall but it's a bug!Also,can't send large MP3 files via Bluetooth!Phone does soft reset also!Continue in the next message...

When i receive a call from some contacts that i have them on the phonebook,it doesn't show the name or the photo in some cases!I tried deleting those contacts & resave them but it doesn't work on all of them!Also,can't add all contacts in groups!In some cases the phone adds to a group another contact from this that i have selected to add!Why is that SE??Whyyy??The main functions of a mobile phone is to make & receive calls & using the phonebooks' facilities without a problem!!

The rebooting thing is exactly why I they are giving me a new phone. Mine reboot 4 times in a row during a phone call. I think there is a problem with the BT and the way they are interacting together. Not sure. Anyway, document every single time it reboots and take this to SE. It is a problem with the phone, and the way the software is interacting with the phone. Do not let them give you any crap. This is new phone time.

Hi, I have the very same problem as you. I had the DSS-25 working perfectly with my S700i for months. It worked fine on the day I tried the update. I did the update and since then, when I put the phone in the DSS-25 and open up 'My Phones' it doesn't recognise it anymore. It seems as if the software update changed the phone's identity and the DSS-25/My Phones cannot recognise it.
Like you, I've tried everything to fix it. I've deleted all syncstation software and drivers and then reinstalled the latest ones but I still cannot get it to work. I'm just getting a flashing yellow tick in the phone monitor in my taskbar and My Phones is just showing a question mark saying not connected. It was working perfectly before I attempted the update, so it seems like the update definitely screwed up something in the phone.
Did you get the update to work at all before you started getting this problem. |

I have encounterd an strange problem after uppgrading to R3K004 i can no longer assign wav and amr files as ringtones i could before the uppgrade am i the only one??

My dear mate, at least U were lucky enough to update the phone. I didn't even get a chance to do that. I wouldn't complain if I could do the update, and then have the problem as yours, 'cause the synchronisation works fine, and I'll use the usb cable instead of dss-20, but I can't even get the update to start, always get "Synchstation not found" message, and it seems that I'm stuck with the version I have at the moment (I'm not happy with it), since no one here can help me solve my problem, and SE is simply just egnoring my messages, like they don't give a f@#k. It's a shame that the company as large and as strong as SE takes little care of their consumers, and I'm really begining to consider changing the phone, even the manufacturer.
If U, or anyone else would be so kind to even try and help me out here, here's the link that completely describes the problem, and the solutions that I was given by others, but the solutions didn't help me out. Maybe one of yours will ???????

Sapporobaby,how did they change your previous phone?Did you go for it on a service center & they gave you new?Did you take back your old phone or they didn't give it to you & have you just the new?Because i don't wanna them keep my current phone.I have lots of stuff in it!Thank you in advance!By the way,i'm from Greece!

Now, what do i have to do or where do i have to go in order to update my s700i's firmware?
I dont want to debrand or unlock it, i just want to update it (if any).
Second Q, Can any one explain what are the meaning of letters and numbers in the firmware versions?
