Two quarters that number of sold devices not included. How many?
Taiwan Dec 2021: Sony was 6th in number of devices sold (2.5%) , but 4th 💰 earned (2.4%). For example Vivo and Realme sold 5.5% and 4.5% of devices, but made 1.7 and 1.2% of total money. This points to flagships outselling 10 series there.
Xperia on weibo asking people what kind of cam design they like. Some want no bump like z series, other want in the middle like pro-i while other like 1iii style.

I think central position, with or without a bump is best:
*Better stability on a flat surface
*Symmetrical design is more appealing (to me)
*Better for lefties
But the much greater impact on design from a usage point of view is the comfort of the edge in the hand.
That comfort level is determined by
*Sharp edges (Sony love the boxy designs and it is possible to have flat cut sides but the corners to not feel sharp)
*Weight
*Width
*Aspect ratio
*Material choice
*Button positioning
Camera position is not what's holding me back from buy a Sony phone next.

Do we know whether Sony will sell Xperia in more markets? Does anybody have any updates/rumours?

Still four weeks until MWC on 2th of February. Might be a bit early for any leaks, if any come at all.

"Sony Corporation has taken the decision that it will not be holding its own booth at MWC 2022. As the world has greatly shifted towards digital and online opportunities, Sony Corporation will communicate in ways that can deliver our exciting product news to a wider audience."
Pro-i has been around only since early december. Announcing 1iv within 1-2 weeks would surely be bad for its sales. I suppose April-May again. |

Isn't the PRO aimed at a different segment?

I have seen people on internet that could not decide between pro-i and 1iii.
Pro-i has better main cam and video skills, but 1iii runs cooler and have zoom system. Not counting the lower $300 tag for the 512GB.
Why would you buy pro-i if 1iv really comes with LTPO, 8K on all cameras, larger battery for $400-500 less?
It is better if they wait 2-3 more months to sell as many pro-i possible.
** the cam button of pro-i was not very well received. I have seen many comments that people like more the button of 1iii. |

I hope Sony will use Pro-It's frame design, strap hole and shutter key in 1 IV. |

That thing is fake, the spec doesnt make sense at all And if its true, it must have the largest camera bump ever seen
Anyway, Sony now starting to out-source the image sensor production to TSMC, TSMC will manufacture the 48MP pixel layer on TSMC 40nm process, presumably for the next iPhone. Also the core logic layer chip of Sony ISP also will be made by TSMC on its 22nm process |

That is too odd. STARVIS is label given to global shutter cmos.
