Once again, you guys have turned ridiculous on me, and are talking nonsense again. I quit this thread of the same reason.

I don't want to keep you informed about this any more, and you're the ones to blame.

Great, this thread is going to turn into childish bickering again, all we can really say for sure is that se are still working on firmware, because we are all very impatient, including me, we have lost our inside source and are now going to be in the dark and just have to pray that something comes along

Au contraire my friend, it's been a long time that I wanted to ask you about a lot of things.
You are one those who know a lot, so listen to me and not to them.

Please give us an insight of what you are currently testing at. I don't care if it doesn't materialized as expected by many, but what you have today might actually be of greater events or greater things to come.
Please Mizzle, I really want to read from you.

Probably mentioned somewhere in this thread but a couple of days ago a work collegue called Vodafone UK to upgrade to the K850. The operator positivlly discouraged him and said that so far Vodafone had received over 5000 returns of the phone from dis-satisfied customers (although the operator could be speaking bull).

Personally I'm pretty happy with mine, there are a few small bugs and improvements that could be made and I'm sure they'll be forthcoming but I'm not going to loose sleep/become obsessive about a promisd firmware update.

This also happened to me ...

I got two sims and was due an upgrade on one (was getting the phone for my son)

I asked for one of the following: W960i, K850i, W910i

The provider stated that the W960i had been withdrawn and the K850i was bug ridden.

As it happens, ironically, the W910i has just won handset of the year and that was the one he wanted anyway.

But I am fed up with having to defend my K850i when people say how crap and bug ridden it is ...

Just want this firmware to make everything rosey again.

A friend of mine got a Vodafone branded K850i the other day and we compared it my unbranded K850i.

Branded was running R1CA029, mine is running R1CA037.

The branded firmware is UGLY! And is HORRIBLY slow and unstable.

He debranded with Davinici and then ran the latest R1CA037 update from SEUS for our country and the phone is working flawlessly now. It's as fast as my phone, with no issues.

3G and HSPDA speed is faster than the branded firmware. There was a noticeable lag when doing anything on the phone, texting was horrible as you would type and wait for the letters to appear. Now it works in sync as you type.

Bottom line is, Vodafone branded firmware (and most branded firmware in general) is the utmost crap and this is what is causing so many unhappy users all over the world.

I have an unbranded phone and apart from my phone being slower than the K810i, I have NO issues with mine.

But a decent firmware update would be nice!

@Mizzle, don't listen to these other lamers, your input is always appreciated.

I said it before, and I'll say it again, if you are unhappy with your K850i, get rid of it!

Patience is a virtue... that most people don't have....

patience is not a problem.

but when you are told this week, next week, next month continuously it begins to wear your patience thin.

interesting post though, as my K850 is on o2 firmware. Do you think its worth unbranding the firmware/phone and trying generic fw?

Ah, seems here are few that take this fw too seriously. I ditched mine few days ago. My patience is over. Will see in a month or so if there is any update. If no, I think Cybershot™ will look good in the vitrine.

I am playing now with my Moto Ming. Yesterday I have installed DOS emu and Windows™ 3.1 On a Linux platform...

There's your problem.. you're not comparing like with like - the updated branded software is much faster.

I'd say unbranded is more ugly so i'm sticking with me voda branding!

hey does anybody know if a micro sd card works fine with K850i. by default we have a SanDisk M2 512MB card. I just for checking put Nokia6233-64MB microsd card into my K850i and the phone doesn't start at all. It keeps on and off the keypad & camera lens cover light.
What is wrong with it? That card works fine on 6233 then why it doesnt work in K850i?
One thing more to ask...
Should i buy a microsd or a m2 card of 4gb for K850i??? plz guide which is faster?
and what is difference b/w SanDisk Mobile Premier microSD & SanDisk microSD?
