CX-180 is good and also cheaper...
But if you want better sound, try CX 400 II, the price difference is worth to afford
Altec lansing is good for speakers but it disappointed me once in headset...
Btw, vX2 is ready but I'm still testing it right now

Here's my top 5 in-ear headphones (under 300$)
#1 - Westone UM2 (from 269$ to 299$ on ebay)
Dual balanced armature driver(one for lows and other to mids and highs.Have a passive crossover) provide amazing low frequency response and rich articulate highs and mids.
Reduce up to -25dB of ambient noise,very confortable and durable.
Recommended for all styles of music.
#2 - Phonak Audéo PFE (from 139$ to 160$ on ebay)
Dynamic driver with explendid mids and crystal clear highs (for a "simple" driver) with precise and nice bass(not so deep as UM2).Very,very,very comfortable!
Recommended to classical music,jazz,Rock(heavy metal principally),blues and vocals.
#3 - Monster Turbine (from 139$ to 149$ on ebay)
Dynamic driver with all metal construction will provide a rich sound experience.Have a huge bass without any distortion,excellent mids and clear highs.
Recommended to hip-hop,R'nB,rap,pop,techno and elctronic music.
#4 - Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5EB (from 140$ to 190$ on ebay)
With one balanced armature unit, one dynamic driver exclusively for lows and up to -26dB of ambient noise, this phone is one of the best in bass segment.
With good mids and highs too,this headphone is recommended for hip-hop,electronic music(all styles) and reggae.
#5 - Shure SE115 (from 68$ to 99$ on ebay)
A cheap and good solution for who someday desired a shure!
With a single balanced armature (bass calibrated) this headphones provides a pleasant sound with beefy bass, satisfactory mids and highs.The sound isn't so detailed as Phonak or UM2 but for this price is the best choice,i think.
Recommended for Reggae,rap,hip-hop and electronic music.
Obs.: This is just a hint,cheers!

Shure se115 or sennheiser cx 400 II better? Their price are almost the same.. |

when using same headset, drivers, and equalizer does a cyber-shot phone get same sound quality with walkman phone?
But what about CX-180. I'm using it its good than HPM77. And its cheaper than other cx-200 or 300. And lighter. Also we have creative EP630. Which is almost has the better audio quality as cx-180
so sennheiser CX-180 better than HPM-77?

After reading some reviews, it seems that Shure SE115 has better isolation which is helpful in crowded area. About technical data:
- Shure has 80 years experience, while Sennheiser only has 60 years experience
- With a same impedance (16ohm), SE115 has freq range from 22Hz – 17.5kHz while Sennheiser has more freq range which is 17Hz - 22.0kHz
- Sennheiser seems to have a louder sound (115 dB SPL/mW) compared with Shure (105 dB SPL/mW)
Shure SE-115 Review.
Sennheiser CX-400 II Review.
If you choose sennheiser, make sure to buy CX-400 II Precision instead of CX-400 II Game...
Both of these headphones should satisfy your needs.. But if you buy and the quality is disappointing, you might have a fake one... Make sure to buy your headphones from a reliable store
Thanks for your review, luhccas
Btw, vX2 is up

Thanks Hiron for your Even Better xV2 Audiophiles.
I Just love your work and dedication.
I always use amplified version as I guess they are according to my needs.
But it seems in this latest one amplified version sound is a little unbalanced as I guess it is a bit louder in right ear.
I have C510 and I hear in Sennheizer CX180.
Thanks.

@Hiron,a suggestion.
Make 2 versions of .csv files,one for non-clear bass and that present in your pack.
Cheers!

Hi there again, here is my UIQ3 tutorial for the sound mod!
***************************************
AudioPhile Premium HD Acoustics for -UIQ3- Phones
Programs needed on the phone:
- CapsSwitch AND
- Swiss Manager (goggle them, download them, install on the phone) AND
- se_sound_patcher_full (google again, and download on the computer)
Now let’s do the work:
1) Unlock access to system folders (use CapsSwitch - capabilites off)
2) Copy file "mmmgmtserver.exe" from 'Z:\\sys\\bin' (ROM drive) to 'C:\\sys\\bin\\' (use SwissMgr, show system folders)
3) Copy the file 'Z:\\sys\\bin\\M3SAudioPolicyMgr.dll' from your phone to computer
4) Run se_sound_patcher_full, select the file 'M3SAudioPolicyMgr.dll' copied from the phone and press "Install"
5) Copy the patched file 'M3SAudioPolicyMgr.dll' back to your phone to the dir 'C:\\sys\\bin\\’
6) Copy all the contents of 'Z:\\private\\10200B19\\AATFiles' to ‘C:\\private\\10200B19\\AATFiles’
7) Now take the downloaded Audiophile premium HD acoustics... We need the folder 'wbxml to ifs-settings-acoustic'. Change all the files’ extension to '.aat' !
(We do NOT need the following files: ‘line_out.aat’, and ‘PHF_4_play.aat’)
8 ) Move them to the directory 'C:\\private\\10200B19\\AATFiles\\' and confirm replace!
9) Restart your phone.
10) Enjoy.
Re- and uninstall:
Do delete the files you need to use the ‘cut and paste’ method using Swiss Manager, deletion will not work! Just cut the newly created AATFiles folder and paste it to an arbitrary non system folder (for example put it simply on D:\\) . From that place you will be able to delete the files, as they no longer will be in use. Do the same with the patched .dll file and the .exe file as well.
To reinstall the files, or update to a newer version, use the same method as above, except not with the whole folder, but just with the Audiophile .aat files. You do not need to restart the phone!

Greetings

@Rajneesh17,
try to restart your phone and use a different cable and headphone...
If the sound is not balanced it is likely that there is a problem in a fastport connection (could be loose etc)... I have experience it once and played a bit with a fastport
@FalconerHUN,
Thanks for the tutorial! Will add it in the readme in the next version...
@loveynn,
Err... I don't really know about Altec in terms of headphones, really
@luhccas-c905,
Here is some things that I know. Correct me if I wrong:
1. ClearAudio phones parse vol_cb_on*.csv and vol_eq_off.csv. vol_emp_eq_on.csv doesn't affect them.
2. Standard MegaBass phones parse vol_emp_eq_on.csv and vol_eq_off.csv. vol_cb_on*.csv doesn't affect them.
3. I copied ClearBass value from vol_cb_on*.csv to vol_emp_eq_on.csv and the bass in Standard MegaBass phones becomes much better now
So based on this, I thought we doesn't need to separate it anymore?

Er..i listen to every music xD
Anyways i got an ipod touch. The sound quality is quite disappointing.
Is there anyway to make it better like modding it? xD |

@Hiron let me explain what i mean
i'll take one line to use as example:
0;-14;14;1989;0;6B231A90;7FFF67D3;0;0;4;07FF;0;X;4D;4D;4D;4D;7F;4D;4D;4D
The "X" with 0 value will not be recognized as it should be.
The rest of the line is for volume steps(in megabass phones only).
But this just will work if the "X" are 1,understand?
Turning off that steps the phone will just recognize the dB gain (in this case 14,in the third column).
Unfortunately this works like that
Thanks and excellent work,like always!.
