order sent to warehouse doesn't mean in stock though, just means it's been sent for them to deal with when they have it .... apparently.

You need to check "order line status" bottom right, this tells you the stock avilability.

This is a nonsense on o2 part.

Do you know it is actually illegal in the UK to take money from someone for an item you don't actually have - regardless if you call it a pre-order or not.

Archaic law but nevertheless it's still there!

It is illegal to take payment if you do not have the items. Payment should only be taken at the time of despatch or just before, unless there is an agreement with the customer to take payment before shipping. It is also illegal to hold customer credit/debit card details without customer agreement. That means that if they do not have the item in stock payment should not be taken. they should contact the customer for payment when the item is in stock and about to be sent. However that way is impracticle and most retailers ignore the rules.

I agree your order been sent to the warehouse means nothing to O2. I've already had my order sent to their warehouse, about an hour or so before they decided that they had no stock. O2 must have the worst stock control computer system in the world. Most places would know that it's not in stock, so wouldn't send the order to the warehouse.

Mine has fluctuated between in stock and out of stock for the past 24 hours. On the phone now insisting someone tell me if it is in stock and give me a bloody imei number! Just for the hell of it. I won't be pissed about like this with 'systems'.

Nothing against off-shoring but I hate liars. After some story about being in retentions in Yorkshire I managed th extract that she's nothing of the sort. All I got was a mindless reading of the notes as if I had done something wrong!

methinks a petition of some sorts is in order .
we can all add our name to the petition/topic and email it to the md of o2
any1 think this is a good idea?
presuming its not against forum rules?

^ Shocking isn't it!

To be honest is doesnt suprise me with O2; their customer service has always been awful. Rang up this evening to complain that my K800i order is stuck on 'provisioning failed' and no-stock - guy said it was in stock and he'd been taking orders all day, and he would refresh my order - so he did that, and suprise, suprise 'provisoning failed' again.

The thing that annoys me, like all of you hear is O2's blatent lies and misinformation, I feel sorry for anyone who has actually been changed for the phone from O2 (fortunately mine is on a upgrade). I would rather O2 be honest and just say 'we don't expect the phone in stock till next Wednesday, or something and you will have it dispatched then'. Again its money for O2 as they are signing people up and not having to actually part with any goods at this stage.

As for ingnoring the out of stock messages, what a joke, doesn't the whole order system revolve around this, surely if the computer says it not in stock (which is tied to the warehouse) no one will get theirs, or is O2's inventory system that bad?

Im hoping something might turn up next week, customer service don't have a clue what is going on, and tbh in not in any rush to get the phone, as my k750i is fine - just would be nice to get the newer model.

The only saving grace is that surely O2 can't be stupid enough to take masses of back-orders if the phone isn't imminent - but then we are talking O2 here!

I ordered my K800i from o2 on Wednesday 21st June, i am a new customer. So far o2 have messed me about, no confirmation email, and constantly changing the dates the mobile was meant to be instock.

So i decided to call o2 and pretend i wanted to place a new order (0870 6003009, option 3 then 1) i was told that they were in stock and i could get next day delivery.

So how come they are telling people this on the phone, but then telling me they are not in stock and i've just gotta wait!!!

Not good o2, not good at all

http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=124672

please join me on this , it may get a result, at least it will make someone take notice with a bit of luck

Btw having ordered my K800 via vodafone now what dya reckon my chances of being lucky and landed an unbranded one??? Think my odds are low on this. Looks like its DRM packager and crap menus til davinci come up with the goods. possibly a change of housing in order too
