Due to the huge amount of disappointed O2 customers reference their K800I debacle - Staff blatantly lying about order status, lying about stock levels and misinforming questions please give me a signature in this topic if you have been aggrieved in anyway recently
I intend to email the link or a copy of this topic to the MD of O2.
. if no response forthcoming from O2 i shall send copies of my complaints and this to Watchdog and Ofcom. O2 appear to be blatantly misadvertising to increase their sales
I will start
got told my replacement for my faulty handset would come today Thursday 26th. I Got told this by four different people and guaranteed it would come despite my concerns about other peoples issues re stock, this all came from numerous calls at my expense to a national rate phone number. Eventually i was told that no stock was available despite guarantees and it would come tomorrow. When pressed further on a seperate call was told in fact 7-10 days. This is just a brief transcript of a long lenghty "battle"
needless to say cancelled!

I ordered mine from O2 thinking that it had been launched and available for purchase. At least it appeared so from the website. Didnt know it was a preorder. Credit card charged for 49.99 before checking availability. Staff continuously saying that handset is due to be available from 28th.
Some of the staff members insisted they didnt know when the handset would be available. Well if its that uncertain, why advertise as available then???
Cancelled my order today, I couldnt take it anymore.....

Finally managed to order mine on wednesday, having been told it would be available on Monday. Only managed to get my order in when i threatened to cancel. Seems strange that cancellations systems were ok but upgrades were down!!! Was guaranteed handset by friday at the latest. called today and was told stock came in late but it would be sent today for delivery tomorrow. Still not showing as being sent on the site so i somewhat doubt it has gone. Why was my order taken on Wednesday when stock still hadnt been received?? |

I ordered mine on Wednesday as an upgrade around 12pm. Got told it was processed and that they will get back to me with a tracking number by the end of the day. I was also speciafically told that the phone WILL get to me on Thursday or Friday so 'I WILL NEED TO BE IN'. Due to this, I gave them my work address.
Phoned O2 up in the evening (as no one called me back) and someone told me that everything was fine but the tracking number hasn't come through yet.
Thursday morning, I call to check whether they have the tracking number and I am told that they need to speak to the guy who took my order. After 10 mins on hold I get a response that he will call me back at before 11:30am.
I get a call with an order number NOT A TRACKING NUMBER at 12pm and soon after an email followed to say it was out of stock!
I called customer services back and they said that 'unfortunately, the phone is out of stock' but that they would still be able to 'fulfil their original allocation'. Now I was to expect the phone within 5-7 working days. |

I made an upgrade order on 28th, got the order number and everything was OK online until about 11.30pm when it said out of stock.
I called back again today to enquire and was told no it's definitely in stock and that my order would be 'refreshed' whatever the hell that means. Everything seemed OK.
Then at about 5.30pm it went out of stock again.
During all of this I've spoken to 5 people, one of which lied about being off-shore (why would you do that - I have a right to ask!). I have received no email notification, I have been lied to about stock levels and generally left feeling bloody annoyed with a company I was thinking of leaving anyway.
My question to the board is, has anyone on O2 online actually received a unit or have tracking info on DHL? |

I think it's fair to say that noone here has recieved their k800.
I'm just a little annoyed more than anything that employees at o2 are either badly mis-informed, or are not informed at all. They each make different 'stories' up each time we all ring. Thank god we have a friendly forum like this so we each know what's going on...more organisation than o2 it seems... |

As far as i'm aware but this is not concrete, the stores are due to get their delivery of phones this weekend. online usually has it before the stores as well so i'd give it a while longer, then if still no luck its up to you. |

thanks for your post but the fact that the stock would be due to arrive this weekend makes the situation worse
people have been promised stock is available and given guarantees that handsets would be delivered at certain times. I know this for a fact not only from reading disgruntled customers postings but from my own personal experience.
It is not slanderous for me to state that O2 have intentionally or unitentionally LIED to their customers. One mistake i can appreciate. but four different people i spoke to in my case and numerous postings MAY suggest that there are some underhand business tactics being employed. |

I ordered my phone on the 17th of june, when it first appeared on thier o2 website, hoping i get the phone this weekend. i got my order number and have waited and waited to get my phone. Conflicting responses from o2 , and updates to thier website has led me to believe, they don't actually have the phone at all and they will get the k800 early next week, like most high street shops i've asked. I just think 02 jumped the gun too early, to attract more customers and have paid the price for it.. i do feel very cheated about this and will have second thoughts about pre-ordering any thing in the future
Ask me a question I would normally lie to. |

All I can say is, I don't believe O2 have ever had stock of this item, yet they still insist on selling it??
I have paid for a K800 and next day delivery. But O2 never had it to sell to me, how can they justify this?
O2 are still selling this phone on there web site available with next day delivery? really? Then where's mine?
I'm sure that I and most others who are/have complained, have only done so due to the fact O2 is selling goods it has never had, yet telling customers that they do have them in stock and can dispatch them. If O2 either hired some compitant staff, or informed there satff as to when stock will be coming in. They can then tell the customers, "Yes you can order that phone today, but, stock is not sue in till next week so you will have to wait for delivery" then noone would mind.
O2, please sort out your customer service department. Make sure they tell the truth. Also maybe, if your going to do business online, invest in a good stock control system, it is possible to have a computer system that updates, not only all your customer service staff of the stock, but also to have your online shop update in real time!! This would mean that customers will know how long they have to wait when ordering and service staff will have all the relivant information. |

Hi guys,
I had the same problem when upgrading to the sony ericsson w810i phone and also getting a replacement handset through my phone insurance from o2. Please see further details below from one of my previous posts.
"Well i had the sony ericsson w810i, i managed to upgrade my handset to this roughly 3 weeks after it was released by o2, i rang them nearly every other day and kept getting told they didn't have it in stock yet by the time i managed to get the handset i found out they had been telling me bull about not having them in stock as new customers could get them straight away. Anyway i got the phone and all was well, one of best phones i#ve had so far, but i lost this on wednesday so i reported it to police and o2 on thursday morning when there insurance department opened. They told me they didn't have the handset in stock but were expecting them in that day so would contact me to let me know that day. They never contacted me so rang them again friday, surprise surprise not in stock. then this morning i rang again and asked whats going on, they say still not in stock and not expected til middle of next week. So i left it at that and decided to ring my local o2 phone shop to see if they got it in stock which they had, so i got back on to the o2 insurance and asked if i could get the replacement handset from the local o2 shop, they said yes but only if the shop manager authorises this by emailing them. So i rang the shop again and they just said they can't do this.
Next i rang the o2 sales number for new contracts and asked the guy on the end of the phone if they have the sony ericsson w810i in stock, he said yes plenty of them at mo, so i got back onto o2 customer care and asked what they are playing at and why they keep telling me no stock when the sales line tells me they have them in. Also had a moan at them for taking piss to be honest, seems as though they would rather take care of new customers instead of current customers due to this i asked for some kind of compensation or better deal and was told they cant do that until i get my new handset, i then got passed to the o2 insurance department and they said they'd get the phone sent to me monday and promised i'd have it by tuesday next week and even tried to make a funny comment of you beat us to it as they only came in this morning.
Since coming off the phone i have sent a letter complaining about these customer service w**kers who don't help the customer or so it seems. I've asked for some kind of compensation, asked for half price line rental or something along those lines and also noted if phone isn't here by tuesday which they promise i'd cancel my contract"
I've since had a reply to my letter complaining and they apologised and issued me with £25.00 credit which just basically saved me having to pay for replacement handset on the insurance.
O2 are a complete disgrace, i wish i hadn't renewed my contract with them but not much i can do now but i can guarantee once my contract finishes i will definately be leaving them unless i get some kind of super deal. |
