@davo: the problem isn't so much the company itself, since most people we have dealt with there are reasonable. it's just one individual who can't or won't get her shit in a pile that is causing us this grief. there were perhaps only two issues which couldn't be directly attributed to her, and only one of those actually caused any significant delay.
the big advantage these guys have is that they will let my father-in-law do the bricklaying, which will give us someone on site for most of the project keeping an eye on things. i'm prepared to wear some administrative f**k-ups if it means we can still get a superior finished product.
@jn: i'm familiar with that one too. maybe i should ask my wife for one

Gelfen, tell em to get stuffed.
Lol, like the rest of my ideas, it wouldnt be incredibly productive, but make you feel better as a person. hahaha! Personal productivity, isa the only way that one can make themself feel better.
You know what i reckon...Get a mobile home. like them ones that you find them yokel ppls living in, in america. They're a crack up. You have to make sure that you knock ur wife's 2 front teeth out tho, and u have to drink beer all day long, quoting things like,
"Hey ma, get off the damn roof"... and
"Johnny, don't touch your sister like that"
FUNNY!
Sorry for the incesant amount of cr*p information that i seem to be sending to you Gelfen. My mind is twisted, and im not sure i'm coping with the lack of sleep that i seem to be getting. Or not getting. Which ever it is....
Woot out. Going to Infinity and beyond...

well, i had a generally enjoyable Easter long weekend.
after seeing Ross Noble on thursday night (very good show btw), we went to see Will Anderson at the Comedy Festival on the Good Friday. for those who don't know, Will Anderson is an aussie standup comic who used to do breakfast radio and has his own tv show on the ABC (the aussie equivalent of the BBC, but only one channel). he generally tours the major international comedy festivals - Edinburgh, Montreal, etc. - as well as other major cities overseas.
on Saturday we did a whole bunch of shopping. practically all my wife's family have their birthdays in April, as does my father, so we had to buy pressies for them.
Easter Sunday we visited my grandmother and the "outlaws" (i.e. the in-laws).
and on monday we had a round of golf with the outlaws, which resulted in much frustration, sore feet, and sunburn. i don't mind golf, but 9 hoels is generally enough for me - especially since i haven't played in about four years.
and to end the weekend my wife got gastro and is spending today at home.

had a pretty good weekend. satuday i went to a friend's buck's party. we went to a party place for indoor laser games and go-carting, then went back to his house for a bbq and some "entertainment".
sunday, visited my dad for his birthday and easter (since he was away last week). bought him a jumper and a dvd.
we also went past the block and were happy to see some earthworks in progress.

we drove past the block again and now the underground plumbing is in place, and a rainwater tank in the backyard.
